I'm trying to help a friend's daughter gain admission to USC. I've know some graduates from USC but I need someone with a lot of pull ... dean of one of the schools etc. Can anyone help?

I went to UCLA for my undergrad. Then I learned the errors of my ways. :p Going to USC for my graduate education has been one of the best experiences in my life. :)

As for helping to find someone to pull your friend's daughter in: I would suggest your friend take the time to travel and speak directly with the Director for Admissions at USC (or the Dean of the College at USC where your daughter's major is in) to see if you can plead your case. IMO USC, as a private institution, is interested in diversity and is willing to hear individual requests for admissions.

What he said. My daughter went there. Not a great student, but OK. No connections, no pull. Personal visit.

Thanks for the suggestion about talking to the Dean of her major. As an aside I too went to UCLA and USC. Everyone in our family went to UCLA or USC. It stirs up a lot fun when we all get together.

Basically, as everyone has been suggesting, circuitous bribery.

Lol. In general I tend to agree, but one of the most honorable and kind men I have ever met is a prominent alum (athlete). From my experience he was one of the exceptions.
