    Recently I stumbled upon something strange in the Ferrari literature. The modern cars come with a Ferrari Owners Manual, the booklet which tells the owner what every switch and knob does. My country's dealership refers to these as "Use and maintenance"-manuals. Yet when I gave them the Ferrari documentnumber of the, in my mind, Owners Manual, it didn't refer to the Owners Manual according to my dealership but to the "use- and maintenance manual"

    My question is, is there a difference between the Owners Manual and the Use- and maintenance manual?

    Research I've conducted, with many thanks to Mr Deetman, suggests that Ferrari used to call the Owner's Manual for earlier Ferrari's a "Use and maintenance"-manual. Is there someone who can both answer my question and possibly shed some light on this matter?

    Well, there is the Owner's Manual, a smaller 6" x 9" (+/-) bound paperback book that came with the car in the leather document holder/pouch..

    Then the "Workshop manual" for repair/tuning procedures that usually was a loose leaf 3 ring binder, the majority of which were a tourquise blue but other colors, as dark red were for some models...

    I have seen a library of those take a whole bookcase.

    Thank you both for this input. My dealership indeed confirmed that the owners manual has the same Ferrari documentcode as the use and maintenance manual. Seems that I will be the owner of a 599 GTO owners manual for a very very special low price thanks to my dealer :)
