    Everyone knows our taxes are way way high. Even the BS luxury tax. But my question is the luxury tax is only paid once by the original owner. So on a drive away price of a new 488 GTB of $512,000 the luxury tax is around $115,000.

    Take that someone would spec at least 50k options so $560 k drive away so why are the advertised still $560 k second hand ? Shouldn't it be minus the luxury tax ?

    Simple as supply demand ?

    Have you seen the waiting list for 488? If it's still 2 years as it was not long ago, I'm not surprised there are people prepared to pay over the odds for a used one and start enjoying it immediately.

    Well, you already hit the nail on the head - supply and demand. If you want it, you pay the guy who got the slot. Not many 488's out there yet

    Oh yes im waiting for mine also . Ordered last May. I just started the thread just to see why given the second hand cars are so high given the about 150 k is tax ?

    Since its my first Ferrari I don't know how much I would lose if sold back to the dealer in 2 years time ?

    BTW 3 years warranty

    Never considered the 458 as there were a few things that i just didn't like about it.

    Just heard back from the dealer and he is saying still same 9-12 months from order. Given they took off 30k from 560kprice it is cheaper than the asking price for second hand so worth the wait for mine. Will be very interested to see when your car arrives in terms of suggested wait time. Don’t forget to post a picture.

    By the way, when your 488 arrives, are you intending coating and/or vinyl and if vinyl how much of the car?
