I just received an ad from Miller Ferrari. Georgeous blue\couio spider with around 2500 miles offered at very close to MSRP. Even decent finance package from Ferrari Financial. Seems to be a relatively low optioned car, but if it was yellow, I'd be all over it.

Is this the winter season speaking, or there a lot on the market? Either way, interesting development.

Spider is a regular production car. Not surprising prices are starting to settle on these.

To be honest I always thought 488 Spiders were overvalued at their peak.

But they were always destined to trend downward after that point. I can't imagine why it won't follow the same depreciation pattern as the Italia.

With all the competition around from Mclaren, Porsche and Lamborghini, the 488 spiders have reached msrp sooner than the 458 spider. Its a good time to be a buyer.

They can actually be bought below and there is allocation to get one in 8 to 10 months. I know, I've been looking. I believe the market is soft and getting softer. There will definitely be some deals this winter and beyond.

Where have you found one below MSRP. Any particular color?

    Thanks,

I agree. I also don't particularly like that blue.

FoW has one now silver with a ton of carbon 390k sticker offered for much less. Some of the newer cars are not allowed to be advertised at authorised dealers you should call around.

Even at below MSRP, the sticker on that 488 Spider is just astronomical. A sanely configured 488 Spider should be in the low $300-340K range.

What do you envision "much less" to be?

My 458 spider was pretty much full including CF driving zone, racing seats with red stitching and red stripe, forged wheels, shields, cruise control, upper and lower leather zone, front and back up sensors, etc and it came in at $315. The only functional things I didn't get where the lifter, the back up camera, the turning lights, and GPS. I thought that price was pretty reasonable.

If you stay away from special paints, the over rated upgraded stereo, and unnecessary CF options you don't need to get anywhere near 400k.

Asking $30K less but for me still too high.

lol I love how buyers always try to start drama in the market! Lol wishful thinking! If you like the car pay the money and enjoy. if not you will probably be waiting for years and meanwhile the rest if us are driving and enjoying :)

A 488 Spider starts at $275K, I wouldn't qualify a 488 Spider with a $355K sticker to be "lightly" equipped. My 488 Spider configuration was within the higher segment of the number I quoted above. Skipped all the CF (except LED CF wheel) and triple layer paint.

Seems the "norm" is in the high 350-360K number, which would put the inflated $390K car within "reason" after the $30K discount the OP referred. I doubt the validity of the discount though, dealers aren't allowed to sell new Ferraris at anything except MSRP in the USA.

How are they allowing a discount then?

The MSRP of the 458 spider was 269K and mine came in at 315. So I don't see where these people are saying all these cars are 350K +

Yeah, I make this sh&t up. It is not new, it has 1400 miles. There are others out there as well. The one I referenced is a perfect spec but I am going to wait a few months and just drive the FF I purchased through the winter. Just run a search on auto trader or cars.com, there are many available in all price ranges. Asking prices are just that.

Actually a pretty ridiculous remark. I found the price drop interesting. I’m actively looking for a 458. So to accuse me of “drama” is pretty lame.

Thanks for clarifying that the car you were referring to was not a new car.

Agree that process will have to drop, heading into wintery and the fact it's not a limited run car at all.

There are no dramatic price drops... prices rise and fall with respect to several economic and social factors. There may be a slight price drop due to the winter months being here but nothing dramatic maybe 5k across the board. Also carsthst are well optioned will hold better than cars that are off collor or not great options.

Its funny, when I am selling the prices are always down and when I am buying not so much. The market is weird right now - some models aren't moving very well at all. 458 spiders with the right spec are still bringing good money. Price drops on 488's between retail and trade will be ~10% YoY. Probably better than most mnfrs.

I think this is true when you look at most exotic cars across the board... the better the options and desirable colors and year the higher the prices.
