Awesome angle on that shot. Probably one of the best looking modern supercars.

    How far we come.

And as it stands, a modded GT is the fastest car at the Texas mile.

Saw that the Mecum FGT Black No Stripe Car hammered for $210. Thought it might go for more......

Mecum's website says $230K. That, plus commission and tax, is a pretty healthy price for a car with close to 10K miles on it.

Did anyone see what the white car with blue stripes went for at Mecum?

The mileage was less on that car.

Wow wouldn't have thought the FGT handles better than a 458. Sounds solid.

I was eyeing a red one with 1000 miles on it - asking was 227k, seemed a bit high.

Is there a more desirable color with these cars?
Kind of like "resale red" on Ferraris?

GTs are soaring right now. I'm sure they'll be near $300k soon. A wrecked one sold for $150k on Copart. THE priciest color re GT is the Gulf livery aka Heritage colors.

I saw the white car at Mecum. It was very nice, but was modified. It was also a 05 not a 06. I think it was a much better deal

I don't think modded cars are such a big deal w GTs as w Fs

My mods are all bolt ons so they are easy to remove

& I freaking LOVE my Stillen exhaust, as R&T said of SLS Black

It sounds like a dragon & a lion had a baby & you are sitting in its mouth while it roars :)

"Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau." - Irving Fisher, October 26th, 1929.

"They're not even [within] 100 miles [of Baghdad]. They are not in any place. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion ... they are trying to sell to the others an illusion." - Muhammad "Baghdad Bob" Saeed al-Sahhaf, April 7th, 2003.

"I think we have an excessive degree of concern right now about home ownership and its role in the economy. Obviously, speculation is never a good thing. But those who argue that housing prices are now at the point of a bubble seem to me to missing a very important point....This is not the dot-com situation;" Barney Frank, June 27th, 2005.

"The [Ford GT] will tank. They produced far too many for it to be a collector car of any sort. I expect them to hit the 80k mark within 18 months. Beyond that, who knows where it'll bottom out. Could be that in five years they'll be had for 40k as a "oh yeah I remember when ford made that thing" kind of car the way many random builds are." Dan "Bobafett" al-FerrariChatti, February 11th, 2006.

now because buyers spent $13,000 more for it when the cars were new in '06. Of course there is one ace in the hold, some Ford exec insisted one be painted a deep blue called Sonic Blue but then the car was put through a charity auction so I think if I heard the rumor right he was disciplined for ordering a color non stock. But since it was built during the run by the factory it is the only '05-'06 that color so could be worth the most depending on mileage.
My info back at the factory was they made 4038 of them counting both years together which is about 3 times more than they made of Mercedes gullwings for comparison

Well I believe its more about supply and demand. The Recent BJ auction had two FGT cars (both over 2000 miles) go for over 240 thousand not including buyers premium (8-10 percent). There was a recent thread at the FGT forum as to how many original FGTs might be around. Many are going overseas and its hard to discern how many are out there as salvage cars. Ferrari made less Scuds ( of which I have one) and they continue to depreciate. The FGT has an iconic car cult following and many owners are happy with the ownership experience. I travel around the world frequently, and it is a desired commodity with the car guys of many countries. Comparing the SLS and the FGT is apples to oranges.

The GT is a special car. Easy to make serious hp, analouge and drop dead reliable. And it looks amazing. Back in 2003 I remeber seeing most guys say that it was a cheap Ferrari 360 knockoff, crudely built and ugly.

The Ford Egineers were more hungry. Simple as that.

Fine w me :) But make that a 2 hit wonder cus of original GT40

As for GTs tanking, I think the $USD will tank a lot harder than GTs and inflation will keep GT prices up.

GTs are not like other exotics cus they have replacements, the GT doesn't so far

You were way conservative on that one!

Personally, I don't think these prices will sustain because the entire car market is overheating, but it's always fun to bring this thread back for a laugh.

Lots of GTs brought big money this weekend.

    $510k hammer 100 mile Heritage
    $375k hammer 13 mile Yellow
    $315k hammer 3 mile Red
    $280k hammer 38 mile White
$240k hammer 10,000 mile Tungsten (with a blemished car fax no less)
