I recently purchased a 360 spider and i was searching for a used tubi exhaust. Well I could only find one out there and it looks ok but the tips need polishing. FOC quoted me 4400 plus 500 to install for a new one. Am i better off buying a new one or is this a good deal? the 500 install remains the same for the used one. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/pts/353517473.html

It is just stainless steel, it can be polished, saving over $2k is a good thing.

$2300 is a little steep for a used tubi. However, from the looks of the one on CL there, it doesn't look like it's been run very long. Just make sure you get the clamps that attach it to the cats, since the stuff Tubi provides is very nice.

Nothing wrong with a used tubi. They are well made and once you drive the car for a while, they turn a slight bronze color anyway. Not like having a few miles on it either way matter much.

    Here's a real-life experience:

I bought my 2003 -360 with a stock exhaust. I wanted to change it for a Tubi. I found a used one being sold by Jim Gainer. It was advertised as a barely-used test mule. I bought it and thought I saved about $1500. When the exhaust arrived, it was not what was advertised. Plus, there was debris in the can that most probably came from a blown cat. Needless to say, it was shipped back to Jim Gainer.

Lesson learned: Trying to save $1500 ended-up becoming a huge PITA! Eventually, I bought a new Tubi with zero headache.

    Buy quality, cry once.
