Only 30 minutes to go - should be very interesting, especially in light of the article I read earlier this morning about Flavio and F1 needing to put on a show!

+95 F in Indy coupled with humidity definitely adds a key element to this race.

I don't think Juan Pablo's services will be needed next year.

Carnage in turn 1. They will be talking to S.Speed any moment.

And he didn't say anything stupid.

Appears that Alonso is holding up Fisi - the best part of everything is that Nico came from 21 to 8th - well now in 9th behind Trulli - heaven forbid that rolling roadblock.

    Monteiro now out - 9 down . . .

Stands look pretty empty and the berms aren't just overflowing with spectators either. It will be interesting to hear with the real attendance for this race is.

Fisi now in P3 ahead of Alonso - sure would like to see Alonso not get on the podium so he can't touch MS record which Renault has already announced they are after.

MS need more fast laps so as to pit can come back out in same position.

Does Luizzi, has a LCD in his steering wheel with a track display? It looks like it to me. If so does it show where he is or everyone

that kinda upsets me I was trying to find a ticket yesterday If I would have know it wasnt sold out i would have just gone toi the box office and bought one. Well I guess I should have just thought to check if I could get one from them.

Sure is. I hoped he would have a good showing. The carnage in turn 1 is a shame. Maybe 6 cars will finish the race.

Albers is most likely next to go - he's already had 3 pit stops. Just shows as retired - he should go back to DTM next year where he's in a decent car and has a shot of wins. I think there's 4 cars on a one-stop strategy.

Notice on the interview with Derek Daily how Speed referred to DC as Uncle David - kinda interesting after awile back when he told him to **** off and got fined. Obviously he didn't give Derek the answer he was looking for about the first lap incident - it's under investigation by the stewards - he'd best not say anything.

Ralf is only 2.1 behind Alonso - hope he can overtake him.

Ralf is closing the gap to Alonso - now 1.6. Rosberg pits - hoping this is a one-stopper for him too.

Wonder if Alonso is trying to hold up Ralf? the gap between Fisi and Alonso is growing too - GOOD.

Alonso in 6th. That is a 7 point difference in the championship race if everything holds to form (that would make the gap only 18 points with 8 races to go). I wonder if there's something wrong with his car, considering how Fisi's going.

Jeff Gordon told Speed that if he had the chance, he'd like to drive F1 - out with Speed, in with Gordon!!!!! then there would definitely be interest in F1 in the US.

When Speed comes back on, should be go to finish. Yet another record breaking day for MS and Ferrari.

At least Alonso didn't break MS record and he WON'T get on the podium - yipee.

    Damned Toyotas...where's the reliability.

OTOH, I guess no skunks, rabbits, eagles, kangaroos, etc at the end of the race this time.

I still wonder what the deal is with his car...he's not competitive yet Fisi is.

Congrats to MS for the win today!

    front wheel bearing for Ralf

CONGRATULATIONS to MS, FM and Ferrari - way to go. And yes, life is good. My other hero took first overall with the "grand old gal" yesterday at Lime Rock in her final run and now Ferrari dominance at the USGP.

Unless Bridgestone is able to produce a competitive tire for the "handling" tracks, it will be tough.

Only 2 speed tracks left on the schedule: Monza, Suzuka

The rest: Magny Cours, Hockenheim (old track would have been great), Hungaroring, Istanbul, China (new), Interlagos

At least things are interesting again now, but we know that Michelin didn't bring their best to the USGP.

I think the one thing we can all agree on: when Ferrari wins a race, there is always a party on the podium! It's as if they're winning their first ever grand prix.

Fans can relate to that exhuberance...nothing seems taken for granted.
