Nope, dB is a log scale, 6dB is a factor of 2, 20db is a factor of 10. -2db amounts to a 63% reduction.
It does seem so but think about your volume knob on the stereo a little bit can make a big difference in middle of the range. No doubt.
The limit in the UK is going to 68dB in 2026. A majority of people seemed to support the noise camera trials.
I bet its imperceptibly quieter than the 812 gts from the outside and it has neutered valve programming. I am confident that a valve controller will fix everything on this car unless the valves open path is also restrictive now. I dont see why they would restrict the exhaust at high rpm on an 830hp v12 which already has cats and active particulate filters for engineering reasons alone. For reference the exhaust valves opened around 4500 rpm in my superfast vs 2500 on the gts. The gts also has a larger valves closed diameter which sounded pretty good. The induction noise outside of the car was significantly louder on the superfast than the gts. I expect the DC to sound great especially over 5k rpm
Hey guys in the end you’re sitting in the car so the sound inside the car should be important for you except you are a poser on city streets. Gesendet von iPad mit FerrariChat
For some of us hearing a proper exhaust sound inside the car is very important. Not just induction noise. And not a muffled turbo style sound.
Db or not db …. If this is the final sound it is wonderful ! However Ferrari communicated in his press release that the 12 cilindri has a “sportier” sound than his predecessor… we will see!
interesting in what sense? Vigna does not talk up how great Ferrari's first EV will be, talks about these mysterious emotional sounds his unicorn electric motors will make..hmm...talks about 3 kinds of customers, he knows EV is imploding, even Rimac, top of the line Nevera hyper-EV cannot manage to sell 150 cars...or even 51 cars... https://www.carscoops.com/2024/05/slow-selling-nevera-is-a-sales-flop-because-rich-people-want-ice-supercars-mate-rimac-says/ Mate Rimac says wealthy buyers want anolog, combustion-powered supercars and hypercars, not EVs Croatian firm has only delivered 50 of the 150 Neveras it planned to build Rimac says Bugatti will continue as ICE brand Three years after the Nevera was launched together with a plan to sell 150 of the 1,888 hp (1,914 PS / 1408 kW) quad-motor hypercars, just over 50 have been delivered, Mate Rimac told attendees at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference in London, Autocar reports. Even Vigna's contemporaries are out on EV: https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/lamborghini-ceo-electric-supercars-future-e-fuels-1235624155/ Lamborghini’s CEO Still Isn’t Convinced Electric Supercars Will Catch On Winkelmann isn’t alone in his concern for the future of high-performance EVs. Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll cited a lack of customer interest as the reason why his company was delaying the debut of its first EV and turning its focus to hybrid models. My prediction: Ferrari's EV will be a disaster, take years to come to market after reveal (due to numerous technical problems) and nearly no sales for all that effort, it will make the GT4CLusso look like a sales juggernaut... It will be quickly put to bed and hybrids and non-hybrid ICE will prevail, oh, and Vigna will be out as CEO, all the blame will be put on him for Ferrari EV sales failure
"The customer is always right" applies in every situation. Sometimes purveyors of goods and services forget that and at times get away with it for a while, but in the end if the customer doesn't open up their wallet (AMG C63 4 cylinder weighing 4500 pounds at $100K abomination) they suddenly remember the motto and reassess how big of an impediment they should create and position in between a customer and the goods/services they want
this is pure engine noise from an F12 with windows up. the v12 wail has a higher pitched symphony of notes. https://youtube.com/shorts/F4mb2-7GgT4?si=SzzcBKxpmfsyOYMy

Why camouflage, since the cars have been already publicly displayed ? or are these vids from some weeks ago ?
It tells you on his page they were taken two days ago. Ferrari always run cars in part camouflage like this post launch and pre first deliveries to customers.
