Just like everyone else there are so many choices/places we want too see and even though this vacation idea will probably take atleast two years to plan any input would be greatly appreciated.

Once I was an avid flyer and it was my "tool of choice" so to speak so....Without any research I would like to get opinions about area's in Scotland or Wales etc etc where I can get the true experience of "matching the hatch" for Brownies? I am a 'wader' so too speak but I would also like to include tours of ancient castles and ruins (you get the idea) and find accomodations that supply the essentials, pub and grub so too speak.

Essentially I think you get the jist and if I have strayed it is only because of my lack of knowledge. Plenty of time but rustic yet cozy inn's close to great fisheries would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance and this is just one of the idea's I have.

In typical thread-sidetracking FChat fashion, here is something you didn't ask about. Have you considered New Zealand. BIG (BIG) fish to be had on a fly, and lots of options--most of it wading, some of it copter in/copter out for the day. Gin clear water, and very much "hunting". I made casts sitting, even had to belly crawl into position once. Also some multi-day raft drifts (though you don't fish out of the raft). No scotch, but some older history and great wineries around.

No sidetracking at all Scotty because I am aware of the phenomenal trout fishing in New Zealand so good call. If I am smart though I should just head up to Fort Collins,CO and kill two birds with one stone? I'll get to see my sister for the first time in 15yrs and meet my neice and nephew for the first time. My uncle George and cousin Terry will know the hot spots as they live in the valley at the base of Horsetooth Mountain.

I just have so many idea's yet not the money.

You may want to consider Waterfall Resort (http://www.waterfallresort.com/) in Alaska if you haven't already. A friend of mine works for their remote office in Santa Barbara and got to go up there for a few weeks in August... had nothing but good things to say about it.

When I worked for Bass Pro Shops one of my co-workers had a brochure of a place his family goes every year in Colorado and it looked great. It has a lodge on the river yet also offers cabins aswell as camp sites. As I mentioned I have family in Fort Collins and I have been to Estes Park aswell as Rocky Mountain National Park so I think once I get in the position of having a pending two week vacation I will call my Uncle George. If needed I can camp for a day or two or just come back to the house and we can have a big ol' fish fry.

I have been to Anchorage and I absolutely love Alaska and that trip is on my "Bucket List".

I'm lucky that I do not have to travel to find great fishing. My cabin is on one of the best fishing rivers in Canada yet it's a best kept secret.
Brook trout catch limits can be caught in just minutes in the rapids in front of my cabin.
