I need a vacation! This year is going well and I have been working very hard, but I think in the next month or so I need to get out of town for about a week. What do you guys suggest? I like all inclusives and I like the beach. What about Cabo San Lucas or St. Thomas?

    Thanks!!! Matt

That's the beauty of Eastern Canada, anywhere else in the world feels like a vacation lol

All I need is my booze and the warm ocean and I'm set.

For a week, I guess one of the islands off the Antilles like you mentioned. Do you think the Bahamas get too crowded?

St. Lucia is nice, St. Thomas is more touristy to me, and the Bahamas is really touristy (unless you go to a small island). I think there is a Sandals and a Sheraton all inclusive resort on St. Lucia.

If you're NOT looking to party, but just relax, and you golf....Bermuda is awesome. I like St. John for the Carribean, and I just got back from Bald Head Island in NC, freaking awesome. Loved it!!

Try www.funjet.com I have used them and been very happy. I've been to Mexico, Florida Keys, and several areas in California, but the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana), had the best beaches that I've been too. Good Luck

We went this January, it was really torn up. Our beach and resort was really in great shape though.

My girlfriend goes to Cozumel once a year and says it's amazing. She just got back form goign with her mom and wants to go with me in December.

We're going to Vegas and Philly/NY in August. Probably won't be that relaxing though :/

Cabo is one of my favorite places, but it's pretty hot in August. Not prohibitively hot, but still hot.

Depends on what you want to do. I always tell people to stay in Cabo versus one of the resorts along the corridor. There is about a 12-mile stretch along the water called the corridor that runs from San Jose to Cabo. The resorts along here are all really nice, but of the all-inclusive variety. If you want to get out you're either going to be in taxis the whole time or need to rent a car. The town of Cabo has a ton of stuff to do--restaurants, bars, shops--and you can even barhop along the beach. Check out this place:

    http://www.cabolaestancia.com/

It's where we got married. La Estancia is the sister ownership resort to Villa del Palmar, and they are the last 2 resorts on the "edge" of Cabo. You're only a 5-minute walk to downtown. Basically, there are no bad places to stay along the beach. Look for some good deals and, since you're off-season, you should find some good deals.

Go to the cool mountains of Colorado, and visit the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. You can fly there direct, or Denver is just 1 1/2 hours north. 3 golf courses,Spa facility, 2 great restaurants, and a great little town. Pikes Peak is fun to drive or train up, and Manitou Springs 10 minutes away has a fun cog wheel train, and the 7 falls, you can walk up. Garden of the Gods is a park with huge rock formations you can hike around, horseback ride, or rock climb. Colorado Springs gets 300 days of sunshine a year, and though it can get warm on a summer day, it really cools off quickly at night.

All that is great (Garden of the Gods is awe inspiring the first time you go).

But I've got to vote for my home, Vail. Not only will you be staying in one of the most beautiful places in the world (and thanks to the massive snow fall this winter, it's as green as I've ever seen it) you'll also be near great biking, hiking, rafting, kayaking, and many near by golf courses (including Leadvile's, over 10,000 feet up!).

My personal favorite reason to be here in the summer, the food. We have many fantastic restaurants.

If you have a car with you, just jump in and you'll be in Glenwood Springs with in 45 minutes (GREAT hot springs, and just a cool town to boot).

Bring your fcar along and enjoy some of the funnest (and well kept) roads around.

Sorry for sounding like a PR person for VR, but I love my home lol.

How about Europe? Maybe Maranello? ;)

My folks live in Miami, Florida half the year, they've been going there for 30+ years. I always enjoy visiting them down there, you just have to ignore the yentas, New Yorkers and Latins who don't hablo Ingles.

    Cheers,

If you want the best vacation of your life try either Eden Rock... www.edenrockhotel.com ...or Young Island... www.youngisland.com ... Eden Rock is the best for romance and soaking in a little French culture in the tropis with food to die for and Young Island is an all inclusive that will give you a choice of land only or land and sail...Either will give you a true Caribbean holiday without all the tourist crap of Cabo and ST.

Cabo is nice, however, it's Chubasco season now. If you really want to go there you'll have to wait for the fall. :(
