I met one of their salesman when I went to Italian car day in Toronto. He was driving a blue 360 and he told me they had that car for sale. He complimented me about my car. I said well your are also driving a nice one, and he said I'm just a salesman it's not mine and told me about the Valeo.

I wonder what the mechanical damage referred to in the salvage listing was.

Missing foam also... never noticed to look ever before until Ted mentioned it on his car.
I'm betting the majority of the Mondials out there have only remnants of the original foam.

not a big deal, just saying....

That's a great question for the 3.4 Pros...

    If it were a 3.2 I'd say a cold A/C compressor belt. ;)

I am the proud owner of this fine automobile. I have done quite a bit of reading in the forums and I understand you own one as well. This car is immaculate, it runs, drives, shifts, and goes down the road perfectly. I love it, and to be honest, it gives me an equal mix of pleasure and anxiety when I drive it which is the reason it was listed for sale.

Part of me feels that it is too nice, and too rare, and should be sitting in someones collection. The other part of me says, wow, this car is amazing; crowds gather around it when I get coffee, and I will more then likely never see another one with the Valeo option. If anyone is interested, I would still discuss the possibility of selling, otherwise I feel rather content owning it.

I am not sure about what discrepancy or uncertainty there is when it comes to the car, but if there is any info you can fill me in on, i'd be glad to know.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Not sure I agree with that statement in the eBay ad.... seems the number is around 20..
Nice car and addition to your garage!

Yes, ownership of rare cars can be troublesome (drive or preserve?). Which is probably why I don't own a Valeo... (I rarely worry about my 3.2 Coupe). ;)

I own the car. The car currently has 19510 miles. You are suggesting it has more around 20K? Not sure why, explain?

For now the philosophy is to do a little bit a driving and keeping up with maintenance and preservation.

Pardon me, I thought I read in another post somewhere that you owned one. I am sure the 3.2 is just as fun and agreeably less worrisome.

I think he's referring to the number of US production Valeos, not your mileage on the car! Is it 5 or ~20 units produced??? Greg has a T Valeo as well but our Valeo expert would be Hank Sound.

    cheers

    Hi guys,

Nah, I'm no expert - but after almost nine years with Rachel, I guess I've picked up a bit of info :):)

Some time ago (and I posted this as well -- good luck finding it :):)), I spoke with a chap who sold Ferraris during the Valeo years, 1992-93. He told me that he "believed" that only 7 Valeo equipped Cabs made it to the states. As for world wide Valeo production, we hear anywhere between 45 and less than 100. I still can't believe that we can't get a definitive answer from Maranello.

    Cheers,

    Hank

    Hi Mike,

The Raab files (Matthias Urban) show at least 15 or more Valeos. How many more actually exist, I know not.

What the heck !! Since we're on the subject, here's Rachel on Sunday at the FCA Southwest Election picnic :):)

    Cheers,

    Hank

Hank is right. The Valeo figures in the posted list only refer to RHD Valeos. Possibly only Valeos that were delivered in Britain and not Asia.
I have communicated with the Ferrari factory and their PR guys have said they don't have the historical number of Valeo-optioned Mondials (total and/or subdivided by LHD/RHD and by Coupe/Cabrio). Doesn't sound like a secrecy thing just seems not to be a statistic the factory cared to keep. I even asked Valeo in France with no results. Checked with Matthias Urban and several other Ferrari writers to no avail.
I guess it may be that this Valeo Registry thread will be the best bet to establish the elusive Valeo count.

No, was referring to the quantity of Valeo's made as the ad states only 5 made, whereas I believe it is around 20.
    Thanks,
    Greg
