I was looking around for things (you got me - Ferraris) and there is a red/tan 93 Valeo T for sale on the Dupont Registry. Almost 20k miles. They want $55k. It's got cool aftermarket wheels. Looks like its in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Just thought I'd let it be known. I've seen a few threads about people looking for Mondials. I've always wanted a Valeo. I wish I had the money.

I didn't say I'd pay that for it, I just said I wanted one. It's more than twice what I paid for my 3.2 cab. Heck, I probably don't have $55k into mine including all the repairs. For that money, I'd expect it to have half the miles, which would probably mean it needed stuff, depending on the records.

Back earlier this spring the owner dropped it off at auto elite in NNJ for some work and a detail. Vinnie (David J & I both use him) said he understood it was being put up for sale soon at about $50k. Looked to be in pretty good shape, and the only Valeo I have seen as yet, wheels were not to my taste, looked like 19" or 20" with super low profile tires, but then I've got the original 16s on my Mondial.

+1 on ditching the wheels. There just no way to make the Mondial better looking, especially with aftermarket wheels. It's takes it down a few notches, not up. OEM or perhaps 355 or 360 like DavidJ but not aftermarket.

Wheels ??? Did I hear "Wheels" ??? And then there's the Holy Grail of OEM wheels - - Euro dealer optioned Speedline Mistral 17". I would never bash anyone's choice of "anything". I will say, these are my favorite for the Mondi t.

    Cheers, Hank

I like my aftermarket wheels also. However, I don't know that I would have chosen them if my car came with the stock wheels, which, by the way, I'm not a fan of. I usually don't like wheels that have been painted, especially anything other than black. Sometimes black wheels just look like hubs when moving. If these were the only ones available and I was looking at this car, I'd make sure there was enough money left after the agreed upon price to afford other ones.

    Brian

Now if the red wheels were on a black car....j/k

I like Brian's AM wheels because they look almost OEM, very similar to the Comps. But if you paint them black or any color for that matter, not so much.

Hanks are perfect! They are OEM and if i ever find a set!!!! Ill probably spend tooo much.

Car price is a bit on the high side but it has had the major done and the miles are low.
The statement of less than 30 made is true but the number appears to be much less (search Valeo threads) than that.
The Valeo transmission is very reliable and has required no adjustment for me during the 1.5yrs I've owned it. Hank has owned his Valeo longer with the same result.
    Good luck,
    Greg

    Hi Jack,

This is my vehicle, so I can likely answer any questions you may have about it. As far as the belt service, It was last done in 2009 when the car had 16021 miles on it by Wide World Ferrari in Spring Valley, NY. They have additional service records on the vehicle-although the car was not mine when they were performed.

I have owned the car since Oct 2012, and have performed the annual "minor" service- which included all fluids be changed, and a supplemental detail.

As far as selling the car is concerned, I have changed my mind and want to keep it. I have flirted with the idea of buying a 348 for a while now and have watched Mondials, and 348's for the last year and a half. Realistically- there is nothing that I have seen that gives a better value and is quite as nice (IMO) as my car. The wheels are not to everyone's taste; but who cares? They are wheels, and can be changed.

Given the fact that my car has less than half of the mileage of most later model t's, runs, drives, smells, looks new, and is a VALEO; I think I would be silly and terribly regret letting it go at, or even near, the price its listed for.

    Hey alexion :):)

You just hit a jackpot "of sorts" !!! Imagine, if someone had put up the dollars ....... and had taken delivery of your Valeo t .......... and then, there you are - - no Valeo t. Now just how do you recreate that dog and pony trick?? You can't !!!! Well, you can - - if you buy someone else's Valeo t. :):) it is - - "the best of both worlds". 348s are nice .......... too bad they didn't have the Valeo feature :(:(

Cut to - - you made a wonderful decision.

    Cheers mate,

    Hank
