Hi, I am close to buy a 308 gts 1980 with 4 weber carbs, red on tan, 60k miles, not the original paint, no service book, just a receipt for timing belt and fluids done 500 miles ago.
The car looks pretty, absolutely no rust.

I am wondering the value of this car today? how much should I paid for it?

Depends where in the world car is located - miles = US / UK / OZ etc etc

Also how original is the car eg wheels interior etc - is there more than one service invoice - are the jack & tools included etc etc

    Hi, thanks for the replies,

The car is in canada, it was an US import, no tool kit or jack, original wheels, interior is ok, original carpet and seats, a bit worn due to the age and mileage, body and paint is super nice (not the original paint)
Clean title, underneath is clean, no rust, no accident.
Tires looks new, engine and drivetrain looks fine.
I dont know how many owners before, I have no service history, no bills, nothing, just a set of keys and one bills for the timing belt and fluids.

For the price I am talking in $US, what is the value of this today?

As I won't compromise the sale, I will not post any pics or location details about the car. Sure I will do it after the sale.

Without at least some good pics, throw a bunch of darts all in one hand and there is your price.

A can of refried beans is all I would trade for a used 1980 weber carb.

It's pretty rare here to have the actual Service Book from the Factory documents.

But, I agree "no records" is rather a huge leap of faith as to the periodic maintenance.
You just figure "probably none" and go from there...

Why does it have carbs if it is a 1980 model year?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think there was a bit of overlap between carbs and injection for the very early 1980 cars.

If it is a US car then it would be a 1979 not 1980. How about the serial #? Do you know the production date, it will be on the plate on the door jamb?

I come back with some news, I did a mistake, the car is from Canada, was not an us import, have some service history but no book, was owned by a famous canadian personality, it's one of the last 308 with carbureted engine from november 1980.
    Vin #30083

Sold for much more than a can of bean.

    Thanks for your help.

Vin #30083 seems to be a car built at the factory in Nov 1979, not 80...
You should check that point first, some cars had been delivered few month after their built but yours, it is about one year so tha's a lot.

If it is a Canadian car then does that mean it is a Euro car with all the Euro-ey goodness?

p.s. Maynard was beyond awesome. An absolute icon.

My bad, you are right, the registration is 1980, in the door jam Is november for sure as is my birth month, I was persuaded it was november 1980 since the registration is 1980, you are right it's NOVEMBER 1979, my apologies, all this excitement tired me.

So if there's a door jamb, it is not an Euro car....
There is about 50 US chassis carbureted behind yours so it is really one the last...

Not really, at the time Ferrari considered North America as one market, my 22127 was sold new in Canada.

No difference in specs, between US and Canada.

The reason I thought it might have been Euro was the "1980 carbed" description.
But only true Euros ran carbed thru all of 1980.

one of those could have been imported of course...
