My Parents are going condo and my dad wants to sell his collection of old Road & Track, Prancing Horse, Cavallino, and Forza Magazines. What is the best way to establish a value? Anyone have a name of someone that buys this type of thing?

I'm sure you can find comps on ebay. There are also several vintage magazine sellers on the internet.

I have a couple on my work computer, I'll post them tomorrow.

Now, about those Cavallino and Forzas....

I could use any Forza that's more than 2 yrs old.

    I need 1-17 of Cavallino, minus #8.

I need some of the pre issue #80 Prancing Horses.

www.albaco.net should give you an idea of where asking prices are.

    *shaking hands*

Proud to come out so well against a worthy opponent.

Mom tells me I should just "clean out all that old stuff" and I think she means the cars as well........LOL!

    The old speedboat, EVERYTHING!

Well, mom...it's kind of about "replacement cost" ROTFLMAO!

    Shipping costs would kill ya.

Just getting it all back down from the third floor would kill ME! LOL!

I have a pretty extensive library as well, the Cavalleria series 1-16 Monographs, Matsuda's Collection. Mon Ami mate, stuff like that..the Pirelli Calendar Collection titles...:) :)

I even found a F3000 book from the late 50s in a book store once, you open it up and they are covering Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collin's early events.

You know John Barnes Jr, Cavallino publisher, did 25 rapidograph drawings in a book at Ferrari's 25 years in Formula 1? Pretty amazing.

I've got Art Books as well..from Ansel Adams to Vargas...

    Drop over sometime!

Sounds like my library. Yes, I've got a copy of John's book, need to get him to sign it the next time I see him. The house that Karen and I are planning to retire to in NC has a library that came out of an old bank. 18 foot ceiling and floor to ceiling shelves made out of thick stock lumber. It might just hold all of my Ferrari crap by then...

Shipping's not an issue, the cars stay in the USA while I'm over here. With traffic and the road conditions, a Hummer is more appropriate for this place.

I'll take you up on the offer to stop by sometime. The invitation goes both ways.
