I think Non red cars should be worth more because if you wan't red its easy to find red. You want another color good luck finding one.
The buyer of my yellow GTB said he bought it because it wasn't red. Wanted anything but, I doubt brown was on his list of to die for colours but the yellow did it for him.
They weren't painted black. Because once you paint the wheels black, you better go back. As the English say they look like rubbish.
In the car sales world, brown is called "stick around brown", because they are tough to sell... ...HOWEVER the 308/328 actually looks really nice in brown (and I truly can't stand brown cars -- even 1930s and 1940s cars, which were often brown.) It is a tribute to the Pininfarina-pennned shape that there really aren't any horrible colors.
I have seen one brown 308. It was in East Hampton, NY years ago. Sorry to say, but it did not look very good.
I find the "red 308" freak-out really funny. In the end, the true value of a 308 lies in what it's worth to you. I'm loving my Rosso Corsa QV...it's a beautiful shade of red, especially in bright sunlight Buy the color that makes you happy, or re-paint a red car if you feel the need. I am a driver though, not an investor.
Agree. Drive and enjoy whatever makes you happy. Don't worry about that future sale which might happen at some unknown time in the future.
Although I have seen really nice looking 3X8 cars in various colors when I think Ferrari I think "red" with a nice rich tan leather interior of course. Something about Red and Ferrari go together like ............black loungerie and nice tan skin.
+1 the 308 is pretty in all colors Mine is silver with a red interior and I get alot of compliments due to the color combo. I have also heard on more then one time "hey look at the Delorean"... I shudder at those people. White with a blue interior is my fave and if I buy another one I may pay a premium for that.
In my case I could afford almost any Ferrari V8 but I REALLY wanted a 308GTB and not red, because of the look at me factor, and I was prepared to spend a lot to make it perfect in my opinion, I mean perfect to me, certainly not everyone's taste. Because of all the black trim I thought, and still do, that black looks best only because all that black trim blends in much better. I like smooth design, not a lot of flash, that's why I like Pinninfarina over Bertone, or Ferrari over Lamborghini, design wise. So I spent a small fortune making my black GTBi perfect in my own mind, and am totally happy. I could've bought a 355 or 360 but I wanted a 308, value be damned. I mean I don't care that for the money I've invested or more accurately "spent" on mine I really could've had a "better" car, but I have exactly what I always wanted. (short of something costing more than a new one) So that's just my ramblings, I absolutely LOVE the 308 B and even though I've spent way more than I could dream of selling it for, I feel it's still a bit of a bargain, really, I own a gorgeous, mint condition 2 seater, mid engine, V8 five speed black Italian sports coupe, wow! All that said, I still love the look of a red or yellow Ferrari, even more so some of the blues I even LOVE the prugna, but I am a bit shy, so for me BLACK really rocks!!!!
I ordered my car 32 years ago, loved red but wanted something a little different. I special ordered my 308 GTSi in Rosso Barchetta which was almost unheared of at that time. It cost me a small fortune, and my dealer really had to jump through hoops with the factory to get it done. Take a look at the results, the color is fantastic! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is Dino Marrone MET. One of only 14 ........... or so they say. It turns heads everywhere. The really off colors get the attention. Red Ferraris around here get little more than yawns. Sorry guys.
How much do you guys think is the value of this 1979 car? Everything original even the air in the tires. Belongs to a friend who still owns it since brand new. The car on the front of the book is the exact car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice! I nearly bought a GTB in Marrone but it didn't hold up in the PPI. The second one I nearly bought was also non-red (silver with red interior) but that one also dind't pass the inspection. I'm a sucker for non-reds and extremely happy with the colour I ended up with. But beggars can't be choosers. There aren't that many good 308s around to begin with so colour should not be on top of your wish list if you want a good one within a reasonable time frame. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Brown? Brown? I thought that color was "Dark Bronze" Kidding aside, my first car was a brown X1/9... got plenty of attention and compliments, even if my then-girlfriend named it "The Flying Cockroach".
All original one owner car no paintbodywork would help to know the mileage but I would say minimum on that car would be low 30's and its just up from there.
What? We yawn at taxis (BMWs) too. Have not seen anything other than red and one or two yellow ones in about 5 or 6 years and I see on average 2-5 a month.
Yes, it's Rex's car, he came over one day and I couldn't believe how original the car is. He keeps it in great shape.
