doesnt look out of line to me. about the same as the options /seats etc. as my 94 speciale.
94's did not have cf seats nor spoiler lip .high 50's to low 60's seem ok for price too. how many 94's are for sale ,or even out there? ?

So what did they have, other than slightly wider rear track (is that same as spider)?

This may be a SS, but it is missing some of the better SS components.......like the CF sport seats and the front spoiler. Those would be a deal breaker for me.

To answer the above question.....SS had:

    Shorter final drive
    rear tail light treatment
    front lip spoiler
    CF sport seats
    wider rear track

I think that is it....I know that after the fist 50 cars they were not generally doing the seats because hefty Americans were breaking them, and causing alot of warranty claims.

That's what I'm saying - what's so "speciale" about it?

Yup this Speciale basically has only the Speciale lights and the plaque inside -- missing the wheels, lip and seats...

And aren't the lights the same, just with the grille removed?

Does anyone know how much replacing the front SS lip might cost?

Gimme an idea of what I would be looking at here:

Major service -- last done in spring 2000 -- $7k?

    Front spoiler lip -- $5-800?

Finding Speciale wheels -- priceless. Well, seriously, any idea?

Sounds like they want to deal so figure I'd see what I'm looking at...

The spoiler lip is $450 - $650 installed - depending on material (fiberglass or carbon) and finish.

Can anyone say for sure if the '94 spider rear wheels are the same as the Speciale rear wheels? 348 wheels are generally really easy to find. But if the Speciale is different from Spider...

Budget $7-8K for an immediate service. I wouldnt drive it much for fear of snapping the belts.

The front spoiler lip is not a biggie - you can get a CF lip from Valence for $650

Speciale wheels ... not easy to find ... might as well get a set of 355 wheels or 360 wheels ... $2-3K with tires on it

Would 355 wheels have the same offset as Speciale, or would they need spacers?

Yea I talked to Chris at Valence -- would defnitely go that route especially since he's in my town!

With fall/winter coming, figure it's a good time to send it up to Ferrari of Washington for a major.

This is only if I can get the car for a great deal, since I know I need to pump some cash into it...

Read this ... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8361 for some nice info about wheel offsets. I believe the 355 wheel will fit right in but the 'hood can let us know if we need spacers

Not a chance! I love my car and I can't part with it. This car looks a bit rough for the money. I do not like the wheels at all. The car would be much nicer with 355 wheels. I'd pass unless you can get a better price.

    Vern,

The door panels look like mine. A '94 tb. What notches are you talking about?

There were only 15 SS's in '94. All the ones I have seen from '94 have not had the CF seats (there was a delete option on all SS's and you could get leather seats for a credit), or the front spoiler. The wider track came from less offset on the wheels only. That can be adjusted with spacers.

Richard, (the rear of the panel the door latch end not the hinge end) has those indents, mine were continuous, not sure if that makes sense. The spiders had the indents to clear the folding top. Also there is carpet on the lower panel it should be leather for SS cars. If you have a parts book for 94 348 look at Tav. 122 & 123 and you can see the difference.

    Vern,

I see what you are talking about. Mine has the notched rear and lower carpet. Without the notch I don't think it would clear the roll cage. I will have to take pictures and post. I bet in '94 Ferrari was using up parts!
