I had the tire store dismount the tires from my OEM Mondial wheels so I could begin the refinishing process. The wheels have the original aluminum valves installed. When I went to remove these from the wheels I noticed they did not replace the valve cores after the deflated the tires, so I need new cores. Are these generic for passenger cars? Yes, they are generic for automobiles. The valve cores should be replaced with each valve stem removal/replacement. Pretty cheap insurance against a slow leak, I always lightly spray the valve stem with soapy water to detect leaks. I would also check the rubber gasket on the inside of the valve stem inner seal.
