    Tengo unas preguntas:

    1. what barrio should we stay in to be close to all the touristy stuff?
    2. any specific hotel recommendations? doesn't need to be anything fancy, just nice and in a good location.
    3. best way to get around town? subway? taxis?
    4. best way to get from EZE to the hotel? shuttle? taxi?
    5. other advice?

    Gracias por tu ayuda!

    Hola, Soy De buenos aires!

When are you going to BA ?

Do NOT Take taxi from EZE to BA, Taxis are dangerous in BA. You can hire a car as soon as you leave customs, they are called Remis, much safer

btw its going to be Very hot now & sort of a ghost town since millions are on summer vacation

The best way to get around is with public transportation, colectivos, tren, subte & taxi.

The best way to get from EZE to the hotel would be a shuttle from your hotel so they’ll wait for you with a sign.

It’s cheaper to buy tours in Buenos Aires than to prepay them in the USA. The first thing I would do is take a tour bus city tour and write down to get an idea of the places you’d like to explore http://www.welcomeargentina.com/videos/bus-buenos-aires.html

After visiting downtown, take a day trip to a ‘estancia’ like Estancia Don Silvano http://www.donsilvano.com/ with a tour guide. They pick you up at the hotel and bring you back in a shuttle.

    Enjoy!

I had never heard that....why are they dangerous? I spent 2 weeks there taking taxis everywhere (soooo inexpensive) and only had 1 that tried to rip me off (the old "you only gave me $X..." when you hand him the money count it out!)...but still just typical taxi drivers....didn't seem dangerous. Asking because I'm going back in April.

I am studying in Buenos Aires and I have been wondering what the f-car scene is like down here. Are there any car shows or rallies? If anyone knows of anything I would love to hear about it. Gracias!

I'm presently traveling back and forth to BA every other month for work. Like any big city you have to be careful. I don't have any problems taking a taxi from EZE to the Hilton Hotel at Puerto Madero. I've been going to BA for 10 years and have never had a problem. I've had problems in Rio but not BA.

I see you're from SD...I'll be there (Hilton, Puerto Madero) first week in April. Buy you a drink if you're there at same time. Cheers

Not much of an Fcar scene but there is tons of racing

    Paris Dakar in Jan

    Big car show in Oct

    Intl Pro rally in Mendoza

Then of course the local track has tons of racing. Autodromo Galvez is a 90s F1 track, beautiful track

Thank you! I found a car show this weekend...not sure how good it will be but I am still going to try and make it. Do you perhaps know of somewhere I could watch the F1 race this weekend?

Only place I can think of is MODENA in Recoleta near law school on Libertador Ave

There are a few sports bars in town w big screens but the one near me moved so you'll have to look it up

1 was called LOCOS POR DEPORTE or something like that but it was mostly soccer
