Roll Call................. Whose going? Well, Well, next week and its on! Is anyone driving from the Portland area up to Seattle Thursday? Love to caravan if so? I'll be driving up my new 360 and leaving my poor lonely 348 at home Wait till you guys hear the test pipe with Tubi. Unbelievable! The power to weight in comparision to my 348, well truely NO compairson. So happy! What a car. Could someone please PM me the exact address and time of where the crew will be leaving from in Seattle Friday morning? Some directions would be great too as I don't spend much time in Seattle. Whoever gets behind me on the way up might want to bring their ear plugs..LOL Mike
Easy, meet at around 8am on Friday morning at the NW corner of the Northgate Mall parking lot. We depart at 8:30am. Take the Northgate Way exit off I-5 northbound. Turn left at the light, then make a right (on to Northgate Way) at the first opportunity. Make another right into the mall parking lot, and turn right again, and go maybe 50 yards and park (if no one is there yet, just sit tight). Turn out will be HUGE. I have about 24 cars going up on Friday, and 6 on Saturday. See you there! Dave
Well, the weather will be what it will be Dave - are we going to take the fun route up north - i.e. taking route 9 from Arlington north to the Sumas crossing then going west on rt.1 to Vancouver? That's not only the best drive north but has the quickest border crossing. I'm psyched for a GREAT weekend. Thanks for all the organizing, Dave! - Will
Nope. Only detour is for our usual run on Chuckanut. The last two years we had folks get lost on various routes, and get into town later than expected, and exhausted. This year we will get in to town by early/mid afternoon, leaving the rest of the day for folks to go exploring, shopping and socializing with the group. On the Friday trip up, I have a luncheon in Surrey, BC at the Keg Steakhouse with several guys from the Lambo club and Ferrari Club in BC who will join us! Should be a great time, and make new friends. BTW, as far as the weather...everytime I check, Jeff Renner's forecast has changed! http://www.king5.com/weather/10day.html Just remember, that the previous 5 years have all been dry...yeah, we might hit a shower on the way up, but nice the rest of the weekend. Have faith! Dave
Without detailed maps of an alternate route and a timed drive - nobody will show up for lunch on time. The biggest mistake I made on the Cannon Beach run was not sticking to the plan and the map through Longview, we lost half the group and they missed out on some of the wildest roads in Oregon.
Yeah but we still had fun! As far as I'm concerned you did a fantastic job! No mistakes , just alternatives
I know I'm going to get a lot of razz on this subject, but is there a place to wash cars like we had at the Hallmark. Forcast may give us a small hope for Sunday that the sun will come out and stay out and I'd like have the mud off for the show.
Last year, several people washed their cars in the underground parking at the hotel. A few people took advantage of the in-house detail service the hotel provide in the garage. Depending on weather, you might not need to wash the car at all.
As Willis mentioned, there is a detail service in the garage, and I think they also let some people wash their cars themselves. For events such as this, I am usually partial to using lot's of Griot's Speed Shine, and a couple mircofiber cloths for a quick cleaning. Not ideal, but works for me.... Dave
My worries as well, Dave. Several people got a little upset last year, as we had a little detour into the Skagit area, and people got seperated, and lost. Many never made it to the open house at Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver. This year, I am trying to keep it pretty simple and fun. We'll have maps, and phone lists, but a more straight forward drive. Not a lot of opportunity for "spirited driving" (or getting lost), but plenty of good times just the same. And ample opportunity to enjoy the city; Vancouver is a terrific place to explore...in fact I have heard of this place called "Brandi's" that I am anxious to check out Friday night... Any of you other guys want to join me?
Dang it... I cant make it up on Sunday. My dad has to work and My moms friend cant give me a ride. I'll make it next year. I'll have a car and my drivers license!!
DAVE T, I know guys do raz you for how you clean your car but can I just observe your washing process from start to finish this weekend? I love to see the care you put into it and would like to do the same for my cars. I forgot the name of that orbital buffer you had in Cannon so this time I will bring pen a paper. See you Friday, Mike
Anyone know if Roy, Ice blue Lamborgini Merci, is heading up. I love to hear that exhaust again? Mike
