I received the newsletter and e-mail's regarding the B.C. trip in June. I figure that will be a chance for me to at last hook up with the Seattle crew including that funny bastard ( Spasso ).
Can those of you who have been describe the trip and function for me? Can girlfriends go or best left at home? hahaha! I would just drive up from Vancouver, stay in Seattle, then rally with everyone up to B.C. I guess?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Bring family or significant others. We caravan up but usually take the scenic route (too scenic for me last year :)). Dinner with the B.C. Ferrari club and prize raffle. Finally, we caravan to the car show on Sunday. That covers the basics.

Some in the group drove up to B.C on Friday to have an extra day of fun.

Below are some pictures from last year's trip:

Looking forward to meeting you too. Don't worry, the cars are not judged. But stay long enough, interesting things happens during the show. Like what happened to my car below :) (photos by Spasso)

I hope that happens to my car. I better park it far away from yours though if I want that kind of talent taking pics with mine. Your car is my next!! Love the Black 360 coupe! Excellant choice!

Being a cheapskate and only an hour (sometimes less) from the border, I usually drive up the morning of the show on Sunday. It's a fun run, early, light traffic, and most importantly, quick through the border.

Robert O in his black Testarossa flies formation with me usually. He and his wife last year, his daughter rode with me.

Good time of the day to make "speed checks" and odometer accuracy tests.

The show is casual, in a park on the water in North Vancouver, all Italian cars and bikes. Alfas, Lambos, Ferrari and a Maserati or two. Lots of Ducatis and Vespas. No fees, no judging, and best of all relaxing.

There is a public market near by that is great for a variety of good food.

The guys had a little "detailing" session at the hotel last year before driving to the show. Bring along some towels and and a spray bottle of water and maybe some detailing wax.

If the weather is good on the way up it usually only takes some detailing mist and a quick wipe. No big deal really. People expect to see evidence of being driven.

Stay at the Sheraton Wall Center and use their detailing service in the parking garage. Some of the guys did just that last year and were quite satisfied with the results.

    Ah but DJ,
You miss out on so much! The Friday gang will be stopping by Weissach Motors to oogle their inventory of Lotus, Lambos and Porsches (they are the authorized Lambo, Lotus and Ruf dealer). We also go out on the town Friday night...including some "gentleman's" clubs ;)

Saturday we're taking a drive up to Horseshoe Bay for lunch at the Boathouse Restaurant, then drive back for a tour of Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver. Saturday night is dinner with the Club members from Vancouver (great bunch!). Bunk up with someone and split the bill.

I realize we are a ways off for the trip but I am heading to Seattle Thursday, staying the night, then off with the crew Friday to B.C. for the whole experience. I don't want to miss a thing.
Dave, I am riding your coat tails seems you got the trip plan down.

Since I am the best at stupid questions on this forum I won't disapoint: What is detailing spray? Just water?

Dave is the event coordinator. Follow him and you won't miss a thing.

Detailing spray= Griot's Speed Shine or Meguiar's Quick Detailer. You could use water but it's not as slick or effective as the other products. In all cases, use a microfiber towel.

I use the water spray to knock the heavy dirt off behind the wheels then the detail spray. I'm guilty of using cotton towels but then I drive a yellow car instead of black so swirl marks aren't as much of a problem.

I went out and bought some of that detail spray and did the whole car. Hate to use the phrase but " bling bling"! I never knew they made such a easy wipe on product.

Great idea for the wheel wells too Spasso. I have been going through such a process to wash the car after alomost every drive. Being Black just the dust from leaving parked at work makes it look like Sh%$. Now it is a simple duster and detail spray!

The painter re-blocked my hood after the paint cured for four months. What he used was a finishing product called Race-Glaze. It is not generally available. I bought a bottle from the guy who polished my transaxle cover. It absolutely took out any scratches and swirl marks. This stuff leaves the surface so slick, I can't get any of my waxes to adhere to it. What the painter suggested is that I use window cleaner on it and wipe it off a couple of times, which I did. I am now using Meguaire"s NXT teck wax based on Willis360's recommendation. The result is awesome. Must use microfiber polishing cloths to remove any of these products.
