Tonight I took my 7 year old daughter to her favorite restuarant in my 430. After dinner we walked out to find the passenger side window busted! A police officer was turning it to the parking lot, so I flagged him down. Apparently someone called the police to report two kids playing with a gun in a car. After closeer examination we found out the window was shot out with a pellet gun. The officer was great and went so far as to call a friend at a tow company to come out and remove the window. It amazes me that you work your A** off to get the things you want, and people just ruin your hard work. The worst part was trying to explain to my little girl why someone would do it. I bought the car for my birthday one month ago, and for christmas I get a new windoow :(

Damn. Sorry to hear that. Some kids have no respect for anything.

    Where did this happen?

I'm sorry to hear of the vandalism. Be thankful that it was the window and not the door or any other major body component (if you haven't taken a detailed look around yet, I suggest doing so).

Too many kids have never been disciplined properly and have no respect for anyone's property, including their own.

No matter how hard you work to have and appreciate your things, there will always be people who loathe others who have accomplished more than them. Most likely kids like these lack self-esteem and feel the need to lash out on society and other people for their emotional problems, only to justify their insecurities and immaturity. Those same kids are probably the ones to be the first to gauk at the sight of a Ferrari. Of course, it is not just kids. Grown adults are often the type of people who will spit on the hood of your car or run their key along the side of the car. It's sad that people constantly feel the need to justify their inadequacy by taking anger out on others. What is really sad is that the valley is full of very nice homes with families with a substantial amount of money, yet this still happens (most likely from kids of parent's who spoil them rotten). I mean, it's not like it took place in East LA.

We were at J-Chen chinese restuarant at Tatum n Cave Creek, Well lit and a lot of traffic in the shopping center, anyone have an Idea on what its going to cost to replace the window? I have 0 glass deductible but don't know if I want to claim it, given American Family insured the vehicle on an exeption since Ferraris are excluded from their coverage.

    Copycat crime?

PRESCOTT - A newspaper carrier helped Prescott Valley police nab a trio of suspects who had in a weeks-long vandalism spree, authorities said.

Police in Prescott Valley, Prescott and Yavapai Tribal police said they had been investigating dozens of reports of car and home windows being shot out with a BB or pellet gun since early November.

Early Thursday, a Prescott Valley police officer briefed 55 carriers for the Daily Courier newspaper about the case, asking them to watch out for a flatbed truck investigators believed may be involved in the case.

Hours later, a carrier spotted the truck and called his dispatcher, who notified police.

Officers confirmed the truck was the one they wanted and questioned three men, who confessed to the shootings, Prescott Valley Chief Dan Schatz said.

Arrested on criminal damage charges were Roberto Carrillo, 21, Kevin Casteel, 19, and Brandon Tellez, 18, all of Prescott Valley.

sorry to hear that. Im just curious for future reference, how did you explain that to your daughter? That sucks about the window, but at least they didnt key it. A window is much easier to deal with than painting.

Just a heads up....glass claims do not go against you on your insurance. You can make as many glass claims as you want and it won't hurt you. Find the place you want to have replace the glass (if not the dealer), call the Amer. Fam. glass claim line and they will get it all handled. I just went through this (again) and it's pretty easy.
I have first hand knowledge of this as well as multiple situations with Amer. Fam..
    You are good to go.

    HTH,

If it's the 3 guys mentioned above that were arrested have your attorney file a claim and have them served on Christmas. What a present that would be for the vandals! From experience I can almost guarantee these guys won't show up to court and the judgment is yours for whatever amount. Just make sure you go for a large amount and then sell the judgment to someone that will really collect on it and make their lives hell for the next 5-10 years since they probably can't pay it in the first place... They will regret it for life! If you really do this, and I hope you do, I will be the first one in line to buy your judgment and I always collect. I'm having some of my customers vehicles repo'd X-mas morning, hopefully in front of their families just to make a point that I always get paid (I own a powersports lending company back in NY and have to deal with 18-25 year old's in collections all the time, and I assure you it will screw up their lives until they're 35).

I explained to her that sometimes people do things that hurt other to make themselves feel better. She recently was watching Pirates of the Carribean, and asked how they became pirates. My reponse was they started with the wrong people and got led into a life of bad things, after the incendent with the car she said in the sweetest 7 yr old girl voice, "Daddy those pirates are going on Santa's Naughty List you know". It was the only thing that made the night Ok. My Step father was an instrumental part of my raising as well as my appriciation for cars, He always taught me to appriciate the beautiful things people make, (he's an Arichitect) and if your lucky you can own one, well we do but, it's to bad more people don't , we'd probably have more exotics to look at if more people seen our acomplishments as works of art. Have a merry Christmas everyone, this incedent taught me alot, Appriciate what we have, you never know when someone, or something will harm it or take it away.

Paul, be grateful this Holiday season. It sounds like you have a great family and a great car. The broken window stinks but when you really think about it, the damage is a minor blip on the radar screen.

This may be a bit extreme but I had bodywork done recently at Scottsdale Paint and Body Work. During the repair, they had to replace a glass on the quarter panel and did an awesome job on my Stradale. I am not sure if they do just glass work but they were very professional. Send me a Private message for contact info.
