the day i got the black '87 328GTS my wife nicknamed the car the frijole negro. seemed a little difficult for los angeles. so i went with: +SPRSSO for the black bean.
You guys in the USA are a lot luckier than us brits This plate will cost you as much as a new 360!!! (Circa £100K) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll never forget a plate I saw on the highway a couple years ago. A guy driving a 'Benz with "HMO DOC". He obviously didn't think that one through.
Calif DMV just told me my plate is in......360 CS Now if only the car was in! Have to put it on 420CLK for a bit then when my 550 shows up in a month maybe I'll put it on that?
pardon me, but that is just ridiculous in my humble opinion. I have seen ads in British papers for various (to me) cryptic plates for some astounding amounts. I had to ask a friend of mine in the U.K. what those ads were for. Is that plate supposed to signify BOSS?
The TR plate is 'TESTY 12'. The number indicates how many cylinders. Merriam-Webster defines the word as: Entry Word: testy Function: adjective Text: Synonyms IRASCIBLE, choleric, cranky, cross, quick-tempered, stomachy, temperish, tetchy, touchy Related Word: annoyed, exasperated, grouchy, irritable Maybe there's already a thread out there for what nicknames we use for our cars. I betcha 95% of them are female-related, especially since I affectionately refer to mine as 'Rosie'. Most of the times she treats me nicely. Very rarely does her name rhyme with 'witch'.
I liked this one. It is from our Casino Drive So Cal a month or so ago. The picture was actually taken by Jordan because I did not have one of my own. BTW, the plate is on a NSX.
Yes - "BOSS" - but it is illegal to omit the space!! Ridiculous - Yes, I totally agree 100%. To date the most expensive registration at auction here in the UK was K1 NGS, which sold for £231,000 in December 1993 I have seen it on a Blue Bentley in the last year - Crazy to think that the plate is worth much more than the car!! Each to his own, I suppose! Paul
The cost of number plates in the UK is unbelievable, when I bought my TR from a dealer in England it had a number plate D6 TOY, I assume the sex toy and the dealer told me that it did not come with the car as it is worth a lot of $$$ and the owner wanted to keep it. Here in Australia (NSW) we can only have 6 digit number plates and if you can come up with something clever with three letters and three numbers it does not cost an extra registration fee. I have FLY-512 on my TR, but here are a few some friends have premium number plates (which cost a lot extra): YTAXME (why tax me?), IXLR8 (I accelerate), to name a few.
"I liked this one. It is from our Casino Drive So Cal a month or so ago. The picture was actually taken by Jordan because I did not have one of my own. BTW, the plate is on a NSX." I saw the same plate here in Washington State on a NSX in Bellingham, WA...he responded and posted on the old F-chat site. It was kind of funny, but really now, the only reason to get that is because everyone mistakes their car for a Ferrari or wonders why they didn't get a Ferrari. Ya gotta have a bit of inferiority complex to have that on your car. I mean come on, am I going to put a bumper sticker on my car saying: "SOICHIRO WHO" ? No, cause just about no one knows who the hell Soichiro Honda is for starters (show you how strong the Ferrari brand recognition is). And my car needs no comparison, except to other Ferraris. It ain't the fastest car on the block, but it is what it is, and needs no boast or explaination. I also see no point in putting down other owners cars. The NSX is a great performing car, no arguement. Putting down Ferrari doesn't make it better.
If i ever got my motorcycle off the ground (bad pun there), i wanted the plate to read: DNR A cool plate i'd like to have on the Scuderia Sebring GT 2+2 LWB Cabriolet Speciale is: NNO NEXT A woman in my area has a plate that reads something like: IH8WORK... i pulled up next to her, got her to roll down her window and said, "Me too..." She laughed... i see personalized plates around here a lot, but nothing usually worth mentioning...
No need to apologise that is a cool plate the reason i use the nick name beast was due to my race # from racing motocross 666. my friends started calling myself beast and it has stuck now even my mom and girlfriend call myself "Beast" If i were to get a plate it would say "RADROBS"
Its in the mail.....so they say, but it will be on my car soon..i hope RRRR E I think you'll get it ?..if you can count to 4
