my ceiling beams and decking finally got finished. damn contractor. but progress will be made, slow as that may be. electrician will start Friday(three days). the round hole in the purlins will contain 800 lumen recessed fixtures. that will give me 55 lumens at the floor.

I will use Bifold doors. 9X18'. Wood clad. They open out. $30,000 for both. Double my track door cost. This will keep the garage ceiling nice and clean. A heavy price, really. But since I am posing money this will be very little in a million dollar project

Nice work Dave, that turned out great!

Bundas, not sure what to say, that place is amazing.

I need some more height for a lift as well in my tin shed. New trusses going up next weekend :)

    Nice lift, Mohawk?

My garage floor does not accommodate 2 post and the garage is too small to have it anyway. So a 4 post is in for me. Greatest tool I bought, ever.

In order of tools having the most impact for my automotive efficiency and enjoyment.

    1. Lift
    2. Air impact wrench and associated air tools, 60 gallon tank, and now cordless impact guns.
    3. Welder
    4. Slide hammer(s)
    5. Appropriate puller(s)
    6. Hydraulic press
    7. All kinds of hand tools....

Thanks. Yes, Mohawk A7. Great lift, no so great customer service.

Mitch, I plan to add a 4 post too. I want it to store cars and also some stuff is just easier on a 4 post like removing the tray on a 458 :)

    Well, I'm now considered a large garage addition. 35 x 30 (1050 sq feet).

Basically I want to push the back wall out to make it double deep. I want to do this for space but also to trash the RaceDeck floor (huge mistake) and add drains in the front section and epoxy. I plan to live in my current house the rest of my life so it's time to add a shop section and move the lift to that area.

Interested in your thoughts on the race deck system. Had been considering that against epoxy or tile options.

Spoke with Architect today. We need to determine the truss arrangement and if any posts will be needed. The ball is in his court. Once plans are done, my contractor buddy needs to put together an estimate.

Well, it's OK. I did it because I has some standing water do the no floor drains and unlevel floor. So, it solved that issue as the water travels under it. But, the underside is building up with a lot of crap. The salt from the winter that gets brought in on the car melts and they forms these white crush flakes thru the tiles. The clickity clack sucks, cleaning it sucks, using a floor jack on it sucks. Nothing beats a seamless epoxy mortar floor.

Another 1000+ sq/ft is a really nice addition! Nice that your layout allows for it.

Tim, I like Mexico. Lets build an F-chat community there. Road course in the middle surrounded by all of our houses :D

Thanks, Jim. This is still just a thought right now. The 30 feet deep makes sense. 24 would be in min and addding another 6 won't cost much in the overall project. The dam epoxy mortar floor will be the bulk of the cost.

I do need to get a variance for 7 feet but the town already said they see no issue givem my neighbor is a couple hundred feet away.

Thats what I am doing. Cost is 3 times more but the coolness is way up there.
    Plus a turntable.
Project starts after the November powerball hopefully. Ha ha.
