No, I have only been once to the Concorso when I had organised the VECTOR 25th Anniversary reunion: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aW7py9YAho[/ame]
The day was fun, the Audi Aventador was disappointing: [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBmsauVSx0U[/ame]
Hey Jurgen, who was that playing guitar in that video?? I'm a guitarist myself and I love those virtuosos! Sorry, back on topic....Why was the Aventador disappointing?? Chris
Regarding the music you need to check the comments on Khaled´s channel. He arranged the video for me. Other people asked for the source of this music as well: http://www.youtube.com/user/tvkhaled The Aventador is in short a car with too much German influence. On that 2 hour ride I felt like sitting in an Audi coupe. Far too cheap materials for a 400k Euro car. And the design is kind of boring after all these Diablos, Murcis etc. In my view the Countach was the the last exciting Lambo. The Diablo may have a good exhaust sound. But the Audi Lambos don´t get me excited any more. The instrument panel is like a Playstation display. For that money and the bull badge I would have wished a lot more Italian flair.
Vectors were cool 25+ yr's ago but they have failed to make any contribution to the supercar market in any form or fashion.
You must be kidding. VECTOR defined the supercar. They built a car with materials that other manufacturers used many years later. The VECTOR W2 from 1980(!) had 600hp and ran over 200mph. It took Ferrari, Porsche and Lambo many years to achieve this performance.
The Vector company fell under mainly because of poor business decisions, not because of the car itself. If they had better management, I have a feeling this car would have been a massive hit. Chris
Any Vector owner/afficianado who would like a press package sent to me circa 1990 feel free to send a message.

Vector W8s back end is horrible now. It was probably cool in the 80s but is about as hideous as any kit car around. Front end is brilliant. But as cool as the car was in the early 90s but is way dated looking now. And not in a good way. The newer version has a more classic line but is too stretched as a result of them screwing up the sizing with the huge Diablo motor. They took a cool design and just stretched the middle to make it fit. And wrecked the lines.
It has a few pros and cons Pro's: It hydroplanes, and can do some really awesome stunt tricks. cons: You need it a lot of water depth to dock it. It could have caught on pretty well, but it never really did.
Parked on the street in Monterey IMO the design has not held up well at all, maybe over engineered? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love the vectors & think they still look great today. I don't really consider the "M" cars to be "real" vectors though. Those jetbikes were like crotch rockets for the water. Too bad they didn't catch on...
A couple days ago, I was running some errands and came upon a Vector W8 parked on a random side street. I've never seen one in the flesh, but I knew what it was from a few blocks away. Okay...it wasn't exactly a "random" side street...it had obviously been moved outside as part of some shuffle of inventory in a nondescript warehouse (on the sidewalk was a purple Dino...there were a few other exotics scattered around). I assume they were pulling some cars out for the Portland Auto Show this weekend. First time in about two years that my cell phone wasn't within grasp...damn. It was purple/dark burgundy...I swear for about thirty seconds there it was 1989 again.
