I'm heading to Las Vegas with the girl for the weekend of 28-30 April.

I know she wants to hit some of the trendier clubs. She's mentioned Caesar's Pure, Venetian's Tao, Stratosphere's Ghost Bar, Bellagio's Light, et cetera...

Though it's not really my scene, I don't so much mind taking her out as I'm not looking forward to waiting in lines and going through the motions of expediting our way to the front.

What's the trick? Is there an easy way to avoid the mess in front? Would it be as easy as calling ahead and asking for a table for two and a bottle of vodka?

I would really appreciate any help. I can show a good time in LA, but i'm out of my element in LV.

    Thanks & Cheers!

What's worked for me in the past is buying the bottle of your favorite alcohol or slipping the doorman some cash or both. This has always worked for me. You can always get there really early, but that's usually no fun.

Or you can do what I do and get in without waiting in much of a line at all, and not have to bribe anyone or buy overpriced bottles of alcohol. Just hang out somewhere by the front of the line and pretend to talk on your cell phone. The people that are there when you first get there will know you just arrived, but once 5 minutes goes by, new people will be walking by and they will think you've been there all along. Warning - you have to be pretty smooth to pull this off :) When I last did this, I literally saw people paying $100+ to get in line about 10 people in front of me. The real line was at least 2 hours long. I think it was at club Rain (Rio?) but I could be wrong.

unless like everyone says you want to tip huge to get to the front, or in VIP...go to ebay, search for some passes, I've seen some for Rain, pure, Tao, Vivid...and a few others depending on timing. I've bought a few even some health club passes...not bad for saving over $50 then normal admission..espescially good if youre going from club to club.

I'd say pass on those passes, I recently went out to Vegas and had a host for our trip. I also looked on ebay, but the passes don't really get you far if you are in the back of the line. I went to Pure and also Body English...

From first hand experience, I would get a table and bottle service set-up before you arrive. We had a host from each Club come and meet us and took us right through everyone. Those lines are vicious if you have to wait...

Body English is good no matter where your table is. At Pure our table was on the upstairs deck outside, I preferred that more than inside. Outside at Pure is more of a lounge setting, but its personal preference..

I saw a guy at Pure pay $400 just to get to the front of the line..

Call ahead to the club you want, reserve a table and you will be fine.

    LA for now,NJ really
If having a place to sit is important to you and you don't mind spending too much a table is definitely the easiest way to go -reserve in advance.
Otherwise $100 tip will get you in almost any club for 2 people (note: if you get there early no tip needed, if you don't go to one of the hotter clubs $50 is good enough). Having more girls in your party than guys will also help obviously. Tip: Bring some of those roycats girls with you: http://www.fpiseattle.com/los/roytoy.exe

Rain -one of the largest, still popular although not the trendy spot anymore, still one of the most impressive, especially with the fire from the ceiling. Get there before 12:30am.

Ice -nice but sometimes packs a lower end crowd maybe because it is off the strip?

Studio 54 -very touristy but fun, has the most variety of music. House to guns and roses. Probably can tip $20 to get in here.

Rum Jungle -mandalay bay, more bar and lounge than club.

Mix -restaurant and lounge with great views, at the top of Hotel. Great place to start the night

Pure -one of the hottest, lines wrap around casino floor sometimes. $100 to get in or stay in the hotel and get in before 12am for free. Club is good size and has balcony.

Jet -newest, my favorite right now. Not as large as pure and rain but very nice.

Light -in the bellagio. very small club, don't go here unless you get a table, you will feel very cramped. Last time I went to Jet the stamp you get on your hand when you leave Jet will also get you into Light

Tryst -club in Wynn -lines are outrageous sometimes. Nice scenery, waterfall in the background. More upscale.

body english -great club in the hard rock. Nice and dark

Tao -not so great. more trendy than anything and the food there is just blah. Note: cannot get into the club by dining at the restaurant, separate entrance.

too many to go on... have fun, make sure to keep an eye on your wife, a lot of horny drunk bastards in there.

    Ghostbar is at the Palms.

Mandalay Bay's Rumjungle was packed every night, we stayed there Monday-Thursday.

54 at MGM was packed with a good size line around midnight.

Pure at Caesar's is supposed to be really nice.

I don't know much about them, it's not really my thing, but those seemed to be pretty popular.

ice was fairly lame.. i went there a few weeks ago on a supposed "big" night and wasn't impressed.

ghost bar is a lounge only.. i saw a sign there that said "NO DANCING - THIS IS A LOUNGE, NOT A CLUB".. but its great to just chill.. spectacular views and attractive women =)

i've heard pure and tryst are good.

just ask a taxi driver for guest/VIP passes.. the taxi drivers carry these cards with them for most of the clubs.. some might claim to be out of them, just push them with a few bucks.

Rain isn't what it used to and is pretty much dead. Ice is just garbage. I went to Jet recently and it was really happening. Haven't been to Body English or Pure but everyone says they're the best clubs in Vegas.

the only way you are going look good is buy a reserved table, call the club and talk to a host and just ask.. how much? .. how can you avoid the line? they'll help, its all about money in vegas.

I went to vegas for an Andre Agassi Charity event and the pre-party was on a friday night at Pure. He is one of the owners, and we had the whole outside upstairs just for this event. Janet Jackson was there and all that, it is a cool club. Fortunately because of this event, we just walked to the side and got right in, but those lines looked nasty. ****We did stay later at Pure and had a table, but dealing with the host's killed it for me. The main host was incharge for us and just made it so impossible to work with. He seemed very egotistical and it was a complete buzzkill...

Studio 54 was just okay when I went. It could've been because I was stumbling to their at 2 or 3 AM and the crowd died down.

We went to a lounge/club in the Wynn, it was okay.

When I was in Vegas recently, I went to a UFC/SpikeTV party at the Hardrock. The afterparty was at Body English. Once again I was super fortunate, I was in a group with one of the big guys from Spike TV and we just walked right through into the club..

SO in saying all of this, I would suggest doing ANYTHING to avoid lines. Arrange before you go to have a host meet you if you can, it makes it so much easier. And especially if you are with a lady, you gotta do it right!!!

Just got back from Vegas last weekend. Had a great time at Rum Jungle, book a table $300. It's a great place to watch girls in bikini's spin inches above your head and dancing without getting into trouble from your other half.

    Just my 2c.

this thread turned up way more valuable information than I had expected. I really appreciate all of the public and private commentary that you've all left me.

we'll plan for caesar's pure on friday night and either palm's ghost bar or bellagio's light on saturday night. i'm preferring light to ghost bar, but i'll allow the logistics of availability to shuffle that around.

looks like bottle service is the way to go. if anyone has a friendly host at pure or light, i'll happily pass along the fact that you left me their number.

i'll be sure to come home with some fun stories and documentation. it's going to be getting a little bit crazy; i might have to post those picture in the subscribed forums...

    Cheers!
    and again, Thank You.

I'll be at the Wynn from 4/22 - 4/26. I reserved a table for 8 at the Tryst. They said for a party of 8, I have to buy a minimum of 3 bottles of alcohol starting at $300 each. I don't mind spending the money, but after a dinner with lots of wine, I don't think the 8 of us are going to put down 3 bottles of booze. I guess we'll just have to make some friends. :)
