Anyone familiar with the shop in the Venetian hotel that sells the handmade models? I believe they are 1/10 scale, maybe 1/8. They are made by a retired Ferrari engineer, according to the clerk...

Sorry, no pics. Sign in shop states no videos, no cameras! Rather odd?

was there in mid sept.2004-at the time they had in the window-that really big enzo model(2 to 3 feet in total length with real leather seats, but no opening doors-i'm almost certain it's same model shown in forza mag and speedgear mag for approx.$3200.00-that shop was charging over $5000.00-i'm "almost" certain it's same exact model(very cool model!!)-also inside they had this made by hand open wheel ferrari for "i think" $75,000.00-powered by a 500cc engine-fully driveable. Very nice store with one section devoted to 1/18 car models, and very nice selection of ferrari items-be prepared to pay "vegas prices" but overall great ferrari atmosphere in that store!!!

Yup, the large Enzo is still there, and the open wheel car is made by Alleghretti. Hope I got the spelling correct on that.

I tried repeatedly to talk to the owner about models during a 4 day stay in Vages..he was always out. I left a card. He never called. But to fill in part of the deal here, there were several models there that are large scale imports that are from the same manufacters that we sell...ie..Amalgam

But there was a 1/2 scale piece for something like 30k that was pretty cool. But I never reached the guy and the sales staff didnt really know much. o'well

My experience was pretty much the same. Owner not there, clerks not all that informative. I was in the shop right after it opened, and the routine was the same. You would think that considering the fact some of these models are high end, the staff would be well versed on the makers. The one story I was trying to confirm was in reference to a retired Ferrari engineer from the racing department who builds the 1/8 ? scale early grand prix cars. I had his name at one time, tried numerous ways to confirm with no results.

Added info on this thread. The 1/8 scale hand builts are made by Allegro Pelloni, the chief engineer at Ferrari who was responsible for the quality control of racing car bodies from 1967 to 1997 in Maranello. Anyone familiar with this gentleman or his work on models or 1 to 1 scale cars?
