Hey folks! I'll be headed to a conference Sunday-Tuesday in Las Vegas (my first time in Vegas!) and thought I might solicit some advice from the 'locals.' I'll have a few hours of free time each day and would love to see a few of the traditional sights, as well as any cool/auto-related ideas. Good food suggestions are welcome as well!

We'll be staying at Aria, so anything within easy walking/public transit would be preferable. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

If you are a car guy, there are a couple of quick touristy things you can see that I can think of.

Easy and free - Go to see the Ferrari shop at the Wynn and the Lamborghini shop at the Palazzo.

A bit more time, and still free - Go to see the Shelby factory out by Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Not a Ferrari thing, but cool to see them hand building the Shelby Mustangs and Cobras. They have several interesting historical cars from Carroll Shelbys collection in the small Shelby museum. Yep, Carroll Shelby's shop really does work on the Shelby Mustangs before they go to a Ford dealer! Tours last maybe an hour and are in the morning.

Lots more time, and lots more money - Go rent a race car and run it on the track! Several options, you can do an internet search.

Thanks for the information! It looks like the 'off-the-strip' activities will have to wait, but I'll certainly have to try and make it to the two Italian shops. It is time for Christmas shopping, after all...

    Thanks,
