    It's called Nuoc Mam my friends, and it very well could be the single most disgusting thing in the world. Nuoc mam is made by layering anchovies or other small fish and salt and leaving this for a year. The mixture ferments and the liquid is poured off and used. The smell is disgusting, the taste is disgusting, and the way it's made is disgusting. A while back ago when we did the sickest thing we have ever eaten thread I should have posted this instead of vomit...I'm serious. My girlfriend eat's this **** like we use ketchup. In a bunch of my Vietnam books I have about Marine Force Recon and Navy SEALs they even reffer to this stuff as inedible and these are men that can live off a dead man's balls for 6 weeks in the middle of the jungle while they have to look at pictures of there grandmother's naked (serious tough mother fukers). I dare you to try some.

    You're kidding, right? Nuoc Mam is awesome, like the asian Tabasco. The perfect add-on for many meals. :D

    I can see where this thread is going...will attempt to return to Nuoc Mam. When getting off the MATS connie at Tan Son Nuit airbase in Saigon, Viet Nam the absolute worst smell hit us all about the same time. Had no idea what it was. On one of our forays downtown to the bars on TuDo street, we asked one of the locals what the smell was. Nuoc Mam. The entire city reeked of it. The combination of human fertilizer, Nuoc Mam, two many people squeezed together and the high hummidity all contribuited to the stench. Was there for only 4 months and the reek never went away nor did any of us become accustomed to it. I'd suck down gallons of VEGEMITE rather than indure the Nuit Mam again.

    Communicate, drink bier 33, whore around, sweat, kill snakes, goof off, give lifers a bad time, take showers in the rain, live in hot steamy tents, frequent 20 holers, eat krappy army chow,frequent more 20 holers, say goodbye to a few buds, drink more bier 33, dream of getting out of that krap hole. that about sums it up....FTA.....
