Hey jack it’s ray. Hope you are well.

First off are you sure you have everything buttoned up and connected properly? Worth a second or third check because the problem wasn’t there before. Have you checked the WSM for the answers? I included a link to Voicy’s site on the air intake. Will give a little info. Good luck. Oh yea, why was the intake off?

What the guy is doing is seating the lever in the pic. my lever is toward the back of the manifold and is difficult to back off the .adjustment screw(jacks law)!!! I used to repair throttle shafts on carbs. Sometimes you could back off just a little bit and problem solved. The screw has very fine threads and will make it easy. I need to go to the other house and get my stethoscope and hear EXACTLY where the noise is coming from.

Hi Jack! Have you tried pulling back on the rod in the pneumatic cylinder under the plenum? If so did that quiet them? If so just "extend" the rod going to the side of the valves that are rattling.. I'd be a 6mm or 8mm short wrench to get in there to loosen the nut. Maybe hold the rod with a vice grips to loosen if there isn't a spot for the other wrench to hold the rod...

Is the vacuum line to the pneumatic cylinder connected and pneumatic-ing?

When you find the side of the rattle, check each cylinder with a scope just to make sure for a fallen screw or nut. When I had the plenum off I *almost* had that happen but checked just to make sure..

Nice to hear from you guys!!! Can you get notifications of posting on your email from FC?I guess we need to have a discussion of what the valves do and HOW they work.
the way I read it they are closed at low speed and open at high speed. I can not get a good pic of exactly where the flappers are but they must be above the port that is right above the opening in the head. I opened and pushed closed the lever and no difference. As far as I can see the valves are not seated all the way thus getting them to close a little more would help. After I find out exactly where the noise is coming from I will post.

    Hi jack,

Hope you have more luck than I have. Mine made noise for years and I never found a fix. I have a new intake on order that should be installed in a month or so - pretty drastic but it has driven me crazy.
