I was rummaging under the dash board trying to figure out why I am not getting juice to the vent system when I came across a small vent motor located on the drivers side.`The resistor attached was hot Does any one have specs on this motor or even a part number? I hooked it up to my power supply and it is dead. bruce
The Mondial has one motor-fan whose sole function is to run cabin air by a sensor soas to get the best knowledge of cabin temperature. It is on the drivers side of the schematic which is generally representative of location. The 'resistor' is likely the temp sensor and shouldn't be hot. If it is indeed a slowing resistor and the motor is stalled, that would certainly make is hot. From personal experience I know those motors go bad in other cars (particularly MB) as they are always on, regardless of heater/ac action. Doesn't sound like the immediate cause of your heater failure but it should be made to work in any case.
Thanks Paul that certainly answered that question. This means I can hook up any old 12 volt muffin fan to replace it. Now if I just can find out what the mysterious relay P turn on. bruce
