I have got my 'vent' pipe off my 81 GTSi, I am in the process of replacing the 19mm (3/4") hoses and I was told that there should be " gun barrel cleaner" like pieces in both ends where it connects to the valve covers. Otherwise too much oil will be drawn thru the heads, and the oil vapor condences on these. I don't have these " gun barrel cleaner" pieces. Should I have them, my parts book on TAV 17 doesn't show them. The owner that told me about the has an 81 GTSi European model and mine is a North American model. I would like to put it back together. but I will tarck these parts down if need be. stephen
it looks like a large pipe cleaner and very well maybe just that. i'd use 3/4" stainless pipe cleaner trimmed to about an 1" long and fit it in the pipe on the cover.
