Hello, I thought I would throw this out there one last time before I commence the respray of my car back to its original color. Does anyone have a photo of a car that has been confirmed with an original color code of Verde Medio 19947 A It? There are, by my research, no fewer than 6 original color codes (and shades) that are some variant of the color "Verde Medio," and I have yet to find a definitive example of this particular color code on a car or in a sample chart. Anyone have anything at all they can provide? Thanks in advance. Michael
330GTC 10919. As you already know, 9867 is a different color code, Verde Medio 19400 M. Thanks again Marcel! Michael
10919: Originally the exterior color for 10919 was to be Argento 25090 A (metallic silver grey) but that was changed to Verde Medio 19947 Italver (before production at the factory). There were about ten different Verde Medio colors at the time. 10919 is the ONLY 330 GTC originally painted in Verde Medio 19947. Two other 330 GTCs were originally painted Verde Medio 19400. Original owner of 10919 was from Prato (Florence). Here is 10919 on the 2nd November 2009 on the U.S. east coast, painted dark blue. Yes, I know all this doesn't answer your question. Marcel, Thank you so much for this detailed history, great information. As you noted, Verde Medio is a complicated issue, as there are so many different codes and shades with that same name. Have you ever seen any other vintage Ferrari with the original paint code Verde Medio 19947 Italver then? I really want to get it right. Thanks again. Michael
The following three 365 GT 2+2 (Queen Mothers) were originally painted Verde Medio 19947 A: Chassis #11451 (sold new in Italy), 11505 and 11841 (both sold new by Auto Becker in Germany). None of the 275 GTS, 275 GTB, 365 GTC and 275 GTB/4s were originally painted Verde Medio 19947 A. Marcel Massini
One other question, Marcel-- I don't suppose any of these cars is still green, and/or that there might exist a photo of any of them? Thank you! Michael
Hi Michael. I have 2 books from 70's though, all they have is Verde Medio Met. with no codes. I thought I would post a pic any way, on the off chance yours was Met. It's the two overlapping colours. Grant Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you I do appreciate the help. Do you happen to know which paint manufacturers these are from? Interesting thing is that these two shades seem to both be darker than what I have seen from the 60s. Thanks! Michael
The Ferrari chips are Glidden Salchi, and they seem to be more of a grey green with hardly any met. flake in them, the Pininfarina are not marked, there is quite a difference in the shading between them! Sorry not a lot of help. I have taken two more photos on a white background. These ones are taken with flash. I will e-mail them to you to as they seem to change slightly when posted up. Michael try this web site djmconsultants.net my friend Dave is showing a 330GTC which is Verde Medio. Marcel knows this car and did a excellent historical report on it not to long ago. Hopefully this will help with your color search.
Thanks for the efforts but, unfortunately, as Marcel has already noted above, this car was not the same color as mine. Still looking for some insight into the true color that is Verde Medio 19947 A Italver. Michael
Hi Bruce Dave M.'s car is 10517 which was born Verde Medio 19400 M. 10919, the one we talk about here, was born Verde Medio 19947 Italver, a different tone. Marcel Massini
Hi Marcel, I somehow missed this in the previous posts. It is interesting to note how many different shades of a particular color these cars were painted. This is what makes these vintage Ferraris so interesting. It is good to hear from you, I hope your are doing fine.
This Dino was found to originally be Verde Medio Met. and was repainted as such. Not sure if the formula for the paint was 100% but I liked it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous. Talking with my Dad yesterday about this thread. The first Daytona he ever saw was painted Verde Medio (I believe sitting in the showroom of what was Jack Brabham's garage). Although he didn't buy it it was that car that told him he needed to own a Daytona which led him to buy the one that is mine now. Does anyone have any pictures they can post of Daytonas in Verde Medio please?
A total of eight (8) 365 GTB/4 Berlinettas were originally painted Verde Medio. This, however, was the rather different Verde Medio 106-G-29 and not the Verde Medio 19947 Italver asked by the OP. Of those 8 Daytonas two were RHD (#12849 and #16601). Marcel Massini
Sorry for the slight diversion but I have 16601 recorded as Verde Medio Nijinsky originally (it is now red). I cannot find a colour code for Verde Medio Nijinsky and I don't have it noted on my master list of colours, but is that the same as Verde Medio 106-G-29? 12849 must have been the car Matthew's dad saw. I don't know where it is now (or if it still exists). Jonathan
The factory paperwork I have for 16601 says Verde Medio Italver. Not Nijinsky. Not 106-G-29. My apologies. Here is a short list of some of the Verde Medio colors used at the time (1960s and 1970s): Verde Medio 106-G-29 Verde Medio 19400 M Italver Verde Medio 19947 A Italver Verde Medio 19947 M Italver Verde Medio 2.443.561 Verde Medio 6337013 Verde Medio Metallizzato Verde Medio Met.106-G-29 Verde Medio Met. 633.7.013 Verde Medio Nijinsky Italver Marcel Massini
