Most interesting. I think Maranello Concessionaires paperwork for 16601 says Verde Nijinsky. I will have to enquire and confirm one way or another. Jonathan
Jonathan The factory document for 16601 is dated 22 February 1973. It also states the Maranello Concessionaires Order number as 629 and the name Hoare (Colonel Ronnie Hoare, of course). Marcel Massini
Michael, If you have not done so already you might check Kerry Chesbro's 330 website. I know he has several paint wheels listed http://www.330gt.com/ I feel your pain, my C/4 was originally verde medio niyinsky, a color rarely seen today.
Originally 13 (thirteen) 365 GTC/4s were painted Verde Medio Nijinsky. That's about 2.6 percent of the total production. Marcel Massini
Congratulations. A very wise decision. Enjoy your car, C4's are superb. I really love them. Marcel Massini
Matt. Here are some green Daytona's. Not the RHD ones Marcel mentions. I have no idea of the shade of Verdi, Sorry. [ other than the rather good looking Spyder with the red interior]! Thank you to everyone for their responses, suggestions and guidance so far. I am pleased to report that, upon my inspection at the paint shop today, we have been able to unearth several very visible areas of the original paint color inside the door panels and in the headlight bucket areas, confirming that the original Verde Medio 19947 A Italver appears to be essentially an identical match to the original Verde Medio 19400 M Italver paint sample card that I have borrowed. Oddly enough, it seems as though there were two distinct paint codes for colors that were indistinguishable. Strange, but not altogether surprising, in 1960s Ferrari production. Michael
Sure looks like it! As I stated above, we were, upon stripping the several later paint layers back, able to find a good deal of original green paint intact underneath, which was quite adequate for color matching. Your photos show a color that looks very much like what we matched (if a bit aged and oxidized). It was apparent that 19447 has a bit more blue in it than 19400 did, and your photos do confirm that finding. Thank you for the follow up! Michael
Since we are talking colors, anyone ever get a definitive sample or picture of a Ferrari painted Verde Medio Nyjinski Italver? 365 GT4 2+2 #17675: Original exterior color: Verde Medio Nyjinski Italver. Original interior color: Beige VM 3234 Connolly. VM 3234 is also called Sabbia (Sand). Assembly sequence #251. Pininfarina Body #247. Delivered new to German importer Auto Becker in Düsseldorf, Germany.PS: Nyjinsky II was a Canadian race horse/thoroughbred born 1967. Marcel Massini
A German market 365 GT4 2+2 in Verdio Medio Nyjinsky parked outside Monaco Motors in the late 1970s. I don't think it is your car as the interior appears to be Beige VM 3218 not VM 3234, but I could be wrong (perhaps Marcel knows whether Auto Becker supplied any 365 GT4 2+2s in Verde Medio Nyjinsky/Beige VM 3218?)
Wonder if this is my Ferrari before the conversion and the resale red paint? Monaco plates, royalty? I am sure the seller I purchased #17675 from would have charged more if they saw this picture. lol different interior, small little details like that never seem to faze purveyors of exotica. To quote our new president, "never let the facts get in the way of the truth".
