Do you mean 14 in or TRX - I think the Vredestein are 14 in ie to replace XWX not TRX - happy to be corrected

Vredestein makes a line of tires specially for the classic car market, they are called sprint classic. They are quite popular in the classic car scene in Europe. My father uses Vredestein classics on his classic Citroen to replace the oem Michelins. He thinks they are great, but his Citroen is off course not a high performance car. They are not cheap, 205/70VR14 tires cost around 300 euro's in Europe. So why not pay the extra bit and get some XWX's?

If you have TRX rims your choice of tires is even more limited than 14s. Vredestein Sprint Classics are the budget alternative to the Michelin XWX and look similar. I must say that the XWX tires just look very right on a 308. Over 2k for a set of tires is a hard pill to swallow though. I'm running Kumho Solus tires and I'm pretty happy with them.

Some time ago i went to a Citroen event providing a tyre fitting service and took off a couple of sets of the Vredestein tyres because the DS realy needs to fit Michelin tyres. Michelin invented asymetric tyres to make the DS suited to the higher cruising speeds that the introduction of motorways was having on driving in Europe. i would suggest if your father fits the correct Michelin XAS or Michelin XVS tyres on his car again he will notice a marked improvement.

i would suggest steering away from the 205/70VR14 Vredestein Classic and sticking with the correct Michelin. They do look loads better and they are actually correct. the Michelin also has a much higher speed rating.
