A 'preproduction' 575 is up for sale in Germany next month. One of two, according to the auctioneers. There was a similar car for sale at DK Engineering a while back, I wonder if this is the same one, I suspect it is, as its U.K. Registered. Mogulboy would be able to tell us in an instant..but we have lost him forever, I fear. Maybe Taz remembers?

Darius- 123761 is the first 575M, near as I can tell, and there were two other preproduction models, 123764 and 123765, all completed in Spring/Summer 2001. 123761 was kept by the factory for around 5 years for testing, writing tech manuals, etc., and was then sent through the assembly line again to be updated to production standards. In the process it received a new engine 113319, and a new assembly number, 59628, which dates to the middle of Superamerica production and well after 575Ms stopped coming off the line. The engine number is way higher than anything I have documented for Superamericas, admittedly a limited set. It was sold through an Italian dealer.

This one actually belongs in the Ferrari museum, but that is unlikely to happen since she is one of the mass produced models.

DK tried to sell the exact same 575M earlier.

    Fascinating - thanks Taz.

It would be cool if she had a Superamerica engine, as that's all they were producing then (for the SA and 612) if I'm not mistaken, but I suppose that's pretty unlikely.

Do you think the updating, TLC, etc, makes it even better than a standard 575? Or just the same?

Darius- The Superamerica F133G and 612 F133F are quite different engines. The F133G was a hot-rodded 575M engine, where the F133F was more of an integrated package, even though both ended up with 540 PS. I have complete factory details on the Superamerica engine, but only derived info on the 612 engine.
