This is my favourite Brabham. Bt31/1 powered by a single cam 2.5 litre V8. Ex Brabham/Stillwell and now back in Melbourne. Test at Calder this week before its next meeting at Easter S.Aust. Fab sound and i think PS gave it a little bit of throttle and it was moving. Awesome car. yep, last Brabham built with a Repco V8. Can either run group O or group P with wings. This one is even better Bt11 with a 2.5 Climax ex Stillwell Gold Star winning car '65. Fantastic that both cars are back here. Very very special cars. I wish now I had bought the BT31 myself. they run group P/Q togeither, very fast motor car very clean threw the air,Stillwell was timmed at phillip island without wings doing just over 170mph.,not far of in straight line speed to the lola t430. A proper formula car ,in fact as close to a period F1 as you will get.
all is forgiven the sound ,my ears were hurting from the exhaust pitch. I think its got about 370bhp. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for that RB! Gorgeous, gorgeous car, I just love the purity of that era of race cars; wish I could get to hear it, any idea what races he'll be entering with it?
all over Australia ,high pitch sound, that car looks a lot better wingless and just love the non engine cover style. A very pretty car.
Easter Mallala.Did you see it before it went O/seas? its pure late 60s F1 with a smaller engine. last Brabham built with a repco.
