Hi, I know, it does not belong to European Section, but as I'm European ;-), I thought that would might interrest you ? I stay in India for business for 5 months already, and no need to say the country is amazingly poor. I've been travelling the world and India maybe contains the biggest part of poor people ever, with a small mid-class, and an almost inexistant rich part, at least not visible in Puna (and I speak about Puna and not Dehli or Bombay), a "small" city in this country. In Brasil for instance, you have a lot of very poor people, as you see a lot of VERY rich people, side by side ; no surprise at this stage. But in my place here in India, it is really 90% very poor. So, this WE, as I took a Rikshaw (don't know the exact spelling), the local "taxi" in here, a small toy with 3 wheels, a lot of noise and smoke, and in a terrific and horrifying amazing traffic with motorcycles, bicycles, and some local cars (Tata and japanese cars) plus some elephants and cows in the street (yes yes !!), I saw suddenly a very large and flat car in the darkness (at 18H30 the night comes) and few meters far from me I discovered a brand new 360 Modena Spider in the killing exhaust smoke and smell from the others drivers, like a divine appearance !!!! The best car ever a saw here in 5 months was 1 Mercedes among millions sh*ty cars, and that one came ! Just my surprise to share with you. No need to remind me that in every country you have poor and rich people and blablabla.... I know better than anybody else in 7 years travelling the world, just my biggest unexpected Ferrari ever.... in this local jungle and traffic fight ! No need to say how to deal with the destroyed streets with huge holes in it, the "slow down" obstacle on the streets, and the uneducated drivers arround... Just few nice pictures of the country to show you the "population" you meet on the local roads ;-)) Such surprising country !!!! Thanks for the story!! Please keep us updated with some nice quotes. We like travelingstories here very much......
Thanks for being interested in this thread, really ! In fact, I regret to say that at this moment I didn't get my camera, and as the night was coming, I was not expecting to do any pictures of anything, specially as I had some handbags with me.... But to meet this Modena here was for me the same possibility as to meet Michael Schumacher in the seashore in Britany, Western France, where I live ;-)) But who knows now ;-)) ?? I spoke with my colleagues about this Red Modena Spider, and they also have seen it. So the chance I can get it with my cam' and I'll post it immediatly on Fchat, that would be just great to see that dreaming car among elephants and cows on the street ;-)) Otherwise India is for sure a country to be seen, with a huge culture and past history, lot of temples and great place, which also makes you more appreciating your life and realising how lucky we are to have possibilty to care about "cars". That said, young Indian people here in Puna are really Ferrari fans, because an amazing amount of people wearing Ferrari BaseBall hat, tee-shirt, logo, stickers on their cars and Rikshaw ! You don't have that much Coca-cola and McDo overload in here, but Ferrari is present everywhere, positively surprising... So as you were interested in my travel, I just let you know few more ;-) Best Regards.
