There's more than just us with glass 308s in Toorak, but we are the most legendary though. My car is, in fact, Azzuro Metalico/a (whatever it's called), not the original more flat looking colour. I actually love it...it really pops! So the paint code on my car is actually correct.
No, not true, well over a 100 dry sump cars in RHD. There are 11 here that I know of, probably more. UK, NZ, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia were the RHD markets. Of glass cars, approximately 194 in RHD, of that, approximately 818 in total (Not 712 as is often incorrectly quoted)
That's what Azzurro is, Azzurro Metalico. Just means light blue metallic. You car does look good, lots of clear over base to the give it the sheen. Originally, the polyester paint would have appeared far more dull looking. I need Glenn to chime in here to help!
My car was 1,280 kg wet, all tools, full tank but no driver. My friends steel car back then (Now James Smiths car) was 38 kg heavier. Aussie car too. Ahhh, the good old days of the Prahran tip scales!
I used the local tip for weighing too.. just take in a few token items for recycling and all done for free! My R33 Skyline almost identical weight 1290 kg with driver & big tool bag but near empty tank.. currently 200ish KW at the wheels and big torque punch from down low.. BFYB king I dare say.
well at the very least, the one FF just rebuilt the front of, you dumb bugger!!! you'd have seen it. it's a block from me.
Good to know...Thanks Carl. To me, that will mean whatever springs worked in a steel car will be perfectly ok with my glass car. 38kg over 4 wheels is nothing!
Have a look at this then (Thanks Muzza) It's from the service update information. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen that spring info. I have another source which is different, and the workshop manual is different again!
But there is no 308 GTB workshop manual??? I have another chart in the service bulletin update but it's at FF's workshop, perhaps you'd like to go out and pick it up?
I've seen that jetting info before too. I've put the jets in that I had in the GT4 which gave me 30MPG and 200RWHP. HOWEVER, the GTB has a freer flowing exhaust, so when it's not so hot I'll put it on a dyno and check it. The mains might have to go up a size (to what millard had in his car, actually, which was too rich for the GT4)
That's right. all a bit confusing, hey? However, I think the shocker length in the GT4 is different, but the spring length might be the same. Still working on that.
I also stole the wheels remember. Put them on ebay with Blackjags boxer, part of Moretti's head, Brett's anal clamp and Pap's, ahhh, never mind.
Be interesting to see if the different exhaust system on a GTB makes any difference to the jetting over a GT/4.
