RMSothebys sold one yesterday in Paris for 132k (euro).... Great buy!
$162,000 USD for this US Vetro wet sump. On the Hagerty site, they are adding $30K for a dry sump version
The are on the downswing but the rock bottom for those cars will always be somewhere in the 6 figure level forever. Never again less.
Really nice largely original car, originally sold by FAF in Atlanta so it is indeed a US Spec car. Gorgeous celeste m blue. Someone added Euro bumpers and removed the emissions items etc, which for me adds value for a US spec car. Wet sump of course. Engine looks like it hasn't been out and rebuilt. Some would say a Euro dry sump vetro would bring a 15-20% premium or thereabouts based on the last auction results I've seen, but it's difficult to say with the latest market corrections. That said, for my dollar, this US spec car checks all the right boxes so you wouldn't catch me running for a dry sump car if deciding between one or the other.
As the very first V8 ,2 seater, mid engine Ferrari starting a long line of subsequent models , these are only going one way in the future. No one ever thought the Dino would climb to where it is today .
Here is another 76 308 coming up for sale at Gooding and Company, Amelia island in March. Can't tell if it's a Vetro or not. https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/ferrari/308/1976/509490?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Classic%20Driver%20Daily%200432018&utm_content=Classic%20Driver%20Daily%200432018+CID_0f34813e6729bebad5fc3b420f179c1b&utm_source=newsletter
No use to focus your eagle eyes, Dr Tommy: a Vetroresina it is allright, chassis 19377. https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1976-ferrari-308-gtb-vetroresina-5/ Rgds
This car just finished here on ebay and did not meet the reserve, but no one was prepared to pay more than £56,300.00 !!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1976-Ferrari-308-GTB-Fiberglass-Vetroresina-with-Ferrari-Certificate-one-of-712-/263472869176?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&nma=true&si=eENXTvj5ytyUjKBD1b2hhhvrFEE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Totally different crowd of course. Dealers typically will snap up deals on ebay or wherever they can find them, then prep them for Amelia or their website with the right marketing and reputation in place to make a good show. It's all part of the show right
Gullwing has 2 Vettros. However, they both have the license plate indentation for the back and I was always under the impression that the Vettros had that back piece straight? Any ideas?
