How do you screw this up????? Whoever wrote this didn't watch the race & whoever proofread it should be beaten. See emphasis below.

That's the way it looked to me, Vettel passes with DRS on the right side, using all the track, but instead of staying over there, both cars go a bit left before there is contact. Yes, I know the drivers typically will go a bit left before swinging right (for the upcoming left hand corner), but in this case, if VET stays straight, no contact.

Giving the position of the Ferrari team in the constructors and the drivers in the drivers championship, there is no reason for Vettel to go to Abu Dhabi. Only LeClerk has the remote possibility to advance against Verstappen and no one can overtake Vettel. There can be no changes in the constructors ranking. The penalty for the Brazil screwup should be a one race ban by the team... if Enzo were still around, he would likely be handed his walking papers in the Maranello office later today......

    I'm done with Vettel.

Actually have been for a while. LeClerc is ready to take over as #1. Give Kimi the Ferrari seat back. Again. :)

The disenchantment of Vettel previous to this was mostly due to his continued driving mistakes with a few exceptions. This unfortunately seems to solidify his character flaws contributing in a loss of respect for him as a person. I really am surprised that it’s gone this far. He is a spoiled man child. The thing is, so is Hamilton, and so is every other single driver on the grid. Gone are the days of men.

Ferrari has not been the wealthiest team for a long long time, and there still a lot of work to do in the car before the budget cap. I´d keep some caution about money.

The problem is that, although Leclerc looks very promising, he´s still only that: a promising driver. Most promising drivers don´t get past that stage. Let´s remember that Leclerc only has been compared with Ericsson (average) and Vettel (decadent). So I think that Ferrari should look for someone already proven, "just in case".

Swap Kimi and Vettel. Perfect solution. Not that it would ever happen...

This is very true. Kimi / LeClerc would have been the perfect pairing.

If that would happen I believe (without actually knowing, it's just a hunch) F1 history would be written as Kimi would be the first driver ever to have TWO comebacks to the same team.

    Am I right? Anybody knows?

I'd prefer a swap with Ricciardo than Kimi IMO.

Leclerc can learn more from DR than Kimi or Vettel.

Ricciardo won't want to play second fiddle to LeClerc, and LeClerc will feel the same towards Ricciardo.

Nico Hulkenberg possibly? He's not the best, but he is fairly consistent which isn't exactly a bad thing when you're looking for a #2 driver. He's also in need of a drive so there's no contracts to buy out. Might be a decent stop gap until you can find some more young talent to bring in.

That would lead to even worse driver in fighting. Kimi has the seniority and skill to help young Charles learn.

While the Italian press is giving responsibility to both drivers for the accident, it seems a majority of Ferrari fans in Italy have no doubt: it’s all Vettel’s fault.

On Twitter the hashtag #vettelout was becoming very popular for Ferrari fans. A lot are tired and have had enough. They want to see the German leaving the team at the end of season.

This, for them, is the last of a long series of mistakes from Sebastian Vettel. There is no doubt in their mind. Charles Leclerc is faster and is better than him. The accident was only because of Vettel and the resulting images leaves them with no doubt.

Yeah, Hulkenberg is constantly mediocre. He wouldn't be an asset for any team.

They may as well try to lure George Russell, and free him from his disastrous contract with Williams !

He was very good in F2, better than Albon and Norris it seems.

i made the same suggestion in the race thread.
to me that should have been what they did at the beginning of the year.
kimi knows how to be number 2, and he is so much more level headed.
and as a side benefit......the sales of team swag with kimi on it will sky rocket !

OMG how long the whole world even including us here on FChat have said time is up for Vettel.

Problem is they don't have many options to replace him right now, looks like yet another year of Vettel f ups ahead. Enjoy!

C'mon, this is Ferrari we are talking about. They can have any driver they want. Just make a phone call.

There is that. Vettel can entertain us for another year with his Stroll/Kvyat impersonations. :)
