Can't see them getting rid of Raikkonen. He isn't racking up poles and wins but he is doing what he's been hired to do.
I like Leclerc but I think that this is a bit premature. Lance Stroll finished 3rd at Baku a year ago and has done little since then.
True. I thought for sure this would be his last year. But he's doing just fine. I guess it's up to him . . . .
I agree, Kimi can stay for another year, let Charles do his learning, and any crashing, in his Alfa before he joins us..... we don’t need rookies, we need safe hands, and Kimi (if supported properly) is exactly that and Seb loves the guy, so team harmony!
Ferrari need to stop screwing over Kimi........don't put all your eggs into one basket Ferrari. If Vettel has a bad race than it would be better to have Kimi there to take the win. Ferrari could actually have both Kimi and Seb in the drivers championship contention right down to the wire but they choose to heavily back one over the other..........they don't have a plan B when **** hits the fan
I agree except the fact is, once the race is underway, Kimi has a hard time keeping up with the leaders. I don't think that has anything to do with his set-up or pit wall strategy.
I thought that Danny Ric would be coming over to join Vettel but with the Red Bull’s improving and becoming truly competitive, why would he go? Unless the issues with Max become to severe, I don’t see him leaving. That leaves allot of drivers (Cheko, Stroll, Leclerc) that really don’t seem like an upgrade to Kimmi, so I expect to see another one year contract and same team next year.
What about Nico Rosberg? I just watched one of his videos on his Youtube channel and at 5:30 he joking says maybe he should consider getting back to F1 in the "Red Car". ()
If the Honda motor shows as much improvement at Canada as it is rumored it will, Ricardo will stay at Red Bull, Red Bull will drop Renault and go to Honda. Kimi should pull a Massa and do a two year retirement tour with Williams. Leclerc could then move to Ferrari, Kubica could go to Alfa Sauber, Sainz could return to Torro Rosso with the Honda engines, Hartly would go to Renault, Mercedes will swap Bottas for Max...that will give Red Bull a calmer driver, and give Mercedes a driver who can either goose Hamilton or replace him.
Raikkonen is paid far less than Vettel, I am led to believe. Since he gets on well with his leader, I think Ferrari sees that a very good value for money. There is harmony among drivers at Ferrari at the moment, unlike some other teams ( Force India, Red Bull ….)
They stay with McLaren and make another engine change using an Aston Martin/Kia developed power unit..
At least a DNF gives him an excuse for not being on the podium. He just isn't driving well enough to deserve his seat. Ferrari doesn't have to hold Kimi back to make Seb look good, Kimi does that on his own. Kimi is a one time Champion...no more and no less...and not fast enough these days to keep his seat.
You can not count out Stroll, because his Billionare father WANTS him to be a Ferrari Driver, remember he bought the Prema F3 team hired Ferrari engineer Luca Baldisserri to oversee his sons rise. ..The only way Stroll would ever sat foot on a Ferrari it would be for papa Stroll to buy Ferrari!!! I don't think he's that rich!!
