I have begun to feel a high frequency vibration (87 328 GTS) in the clutch and accelerator pedals when the engine is under high load. The vibration is felt as I near 5K rpms. If I spin the engine under no load, there is no vibration felt at any rpm. The engine runs properly. The engine mounts have never been changed. Is this my issue?

Check the bushings in the torque rod that connects the engine cam cover to the body. The one on the cam cover is subjected to heat and can harden and crack.

While I did not remove the torque rod, I inspected the bushings with a mirror and flashlight. They look fine. However, the bolt on the fork at the bulkhead was loose enabling me to slightly wiggle the rod by hand. I'll drive the car tomorrow and see if the tightening stops the vibration.
