I took my new 458 to the FCA Hill Climbs this past weekend. Wow, what an impressive car!

Here's a quick video from the drivers side of the car: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8w08HN69NY&feature=share&list=UUbgFLCqyDt8g-ozbkBmphow[/ame]

For those of you that have never participated in the hill climbs, you are missing a great experience. I would highly recommend attending next year.

Cool. Nice pics of that front wheel. Thanks for posting.
Curious, how did you take the video and what was your max speed on the straightaways?

    Nicely done.

So does this event close the road to downhill traffic?

The route is closed to traffic. That's why you can use both lanes.

I'm using a GoPro Hero2 Motorsports edition. I use the suction mount and stuck it to the door.

My top speed is around 130 mph.

It is closed to traffic, but it is the truck route so if there is a camper trailer, bus, etc that is coming down the road, they have to use this road because on the "normal" road, there is a corner that they cannot make because it is too sharp. If this happens, the race is stopped so that vehicle can come down the hill. Once it makes it down, the races continue.

Mike, great videos. The on-board one is my favorite simply because of the sound. By far the fastest car I've been in up the hill. You should do a video comparison showing runs in your F430, California, and 458 all in the same video (3 frames on the screen) to show how much of an improvement there is between the three cars. Thanks again for the ride!

Great post and wonderful use of the car for its intended purpose. This is what I log on to see!

Sometimes, its nice to see a 458 actually being driven instead of the incessant posts about what color thread to order in the seats and what the resale value of a seldom driven car is...

Thanks for sharing the video! Looks like a lot fun!

It's nice to see someone being responsible and driving on a closed road for a change.

Wonderful video! Is it open to other cars as well? Where can I find more information about this event?

The event is the put on by the Ferrari Club and the Shelby Club and is open to all cars. They have to me licensed and have DOT tires.

It's a great event and I would highly recommend it.
