I am going to start posting what I have. BUT FIRST -we did the runs at a reserved location which you can see -Not on the highway -No pedestrians -Miles of open space and secluded -safe with no danger posed to the public in any way -No racing was done on public roads First of all thanks to everyone who came It was a blast and I know you all had fun. My friend with the GT2 will be back again. His car is really impressive and monster fast. -We all met up at the agreed at meet point -The GT2 arrived later The Z06 unfortunately couldn't make it this time to the race location..Next time The GT2 did come though and prepped for racing with Octane 100 fuel First up was the ICS Tuned M5 against the GT2 GT2 has 580rwhp ( soon to be over 660-700) and the M5 is only part way through the modification process from what I can TELL The video was shot from my M6 aswell as by another camera at the end of the race. (The second cameras footage will be posted at a much later date) Please note we will definetly be shooting more videos soon as we have worked the logistics out on this meet and we will keep the participation open to Board memebrs who want to have some fun in a discreet place and safe location... ENJOY GOOGLE VIDEO: GT2 and M5 Race Preparation http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3764877405226909739&hl=en GOOGLE VIDEO : False Start By GT2 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1626543433882327073&hl=en GOOGLE: VIDEO: RACE 1:GT2 AND M5 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7182143569015954695&hl=en In this race the GT2 had a tremendous amount of slipping and was unable to gain traction at all and therefore a second race was performed immediately afterwards with an even starker ending. We could not make any additional runs because of time considerations at the venue this time I'm afraid. we will start earlier next time. Ok guys hope you like what was our first attempt here.
Wow awesome man, wtf, i wanna take my car out and run SO BADLYYY, this is killing me dammit You guys meeting up this week at all??
Thanks for all the positive comments Yes we will be shooting more video soon if the weather permits We will have a Z06 along this time with approx 600rwhp ( according to the owner) The shoots are shot from 2 cameras. One follwing and another recording the end I should have all the additional footage up once diting is finished I'll post details of the next Video meet We are trying to vary location and time but all these video meets start early and finish early we were done with everything by 11:30 am. I hope to see some of you next time RACE 1: GT2 won by just one car length because he could not get any tractionin his tires and he insisted on a re-run., Speeds at the end of the first race were approx 170mph RACE 2: GT2 lost traction in 3rd and 4th and still won by almost 7 car lengths and crossed the finish line iun definete speeds in excess of 180mph When yousee the footage of the finsh of the second race you will be absolutely stunned I must say this though , The GT2 owner was surprised at the early spped of the M5 but inevitably it was far faster The pupose of these closed and controlled video only meets is to see what tehse cars can do in a safe , closed environment with a race -co-ordinator Cheers and watch this space or updates Thanks once again for all positive feedback
We might as we want to have a shoot with the Z06 this time around I still need to make some calls..so nothing definete is planned just yet but I'll know by Wenesday I'll keep you posted
Just watched the video again with sound. Damn, all of those cars together make an amazing sound. Happy to see you guys took it to the airfield to do these runs.. Looks like a lot of fun!
That was an extrememly fun day! I had a blast! Martin, I was thinking of you when the GT2 and M5 lined up. I was like damn, Martin should be here with his Porsche! This would be good! We also ran into that TT GT40 that Steve posted a video clip of here in the Tri-State section on the way to Captree. That car is insane! Crazy fast and loud! Nice guy too.
