    Hey all,

We went and took about a six minute video of the 308GT4 that I'm selling for my friend, and we used my digital camera, which actually takes amazingly high quality video and audio, however when I tried to host the vid to YouTube, it said my file was 329MB and they only allow 100MB. How can a six minute video be 329MB?? Is there some sort of software that can compress avi files for hosting them to the internet?

    Cheers,
    Aaron

329 MB sounds ok for 6 minutes for a good camera.
    I use this program:
    http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/

Pick these options from the menus on the left side of the video preview:
    Video filter: Xvid4
    Audio filter: FFm AC3
    Format: AVI

Then click on the calculator button, and you can put a target size in MB to scale it to. It'll probably take about 1/2 an hour to compress it.

Yup, go with XviD on the video... audio though, AC3's a bit excessive and will take up much more space than, say, MP3. I'd reduce the audio quality since you're not looking for surround sound, and that gives more space for the video, which is the focus. :)
