Little too much. It's 75K here. Wait until the Blue Devil comes. It's the 2008 generation of the Z06 with another 100HP making it 604 I blieve.

If the Z06 was without a passenger and we know the 430 had one, it is highly unlikely the 430 would have been about to catch the Z06 on that track.

The Blue Devil will not be called the Blue Devil it will be called the Stingray. It will have 650HP from either a 6.2 Liter or a 7.0 Liter either will be Super Charged. It will weigh less than the current Z06 which is 3125LBS. It will be a 2009 Model sold sometime in 2008. Plan on $100K+ MSRP with a dealer mark-up of another $100K and they will only make 1500-2000 a year(there are 4500 Chevy dealers in the US). It will Flat Stomp on everything out there except the Bugatti Veyron.

That will be one hell of a car! Let's hope Chebby wises up and makes it look different than the 4 million other Vettes on the road. Exclusivity is just about all that car lacks!

    Dealer mark up of $100,000?

Although its a great car, with production numbers that high(if really produced for year(s)) there is no way it will fetch $100,000 mark up.

That is the Million Dollar Question what will it look like. The Performance will be Staggering if the current Z06 is anything to go off of. I hope it looks the part.

It will at first! Those numbers are similar to the Ford GT, and they were asking and bringing money like that all day long when they first hit the market.

The video fails to mention a few things. The 430 is a spider. With passenger it had about a 400-500 lb weight disadvantage. It had year old factory brake fluid so the pedal would get low with hard braking. The owner has a Corvette as well (with a TT427 no less) so he is not jealous. ;)

I posted this video in much higer resolution on f-chat a couple months ago, right after I shot it.
    Here is the original thread
Guess it made it full circle.

P.S. We will both be at the track Saturday. We'll see how the 430 does now that I got some new fluid and pads from Girodisk.

    http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/03/...lue-devil-pics/

No doubt by now you've heard about VetteGate, our name for the prank pulled by online buff book Winding Road in its January 2007 issue. To recap, WR took a Corvette Z06 and masked it up with tape, fake fender flares and a hood scoop made from cardboard. The result was a car that looked convincingly like a prototype for the "Blue Devil" super Vette currently being developed by General Motors. The fake "Blue Devil" was then driven around Metro Detroit, which led to the public taking pics of the car and unknowingly submitting them to other media outlets as genuine shots of the "Blue Devil". The shots were then published online by The Car Connection, AutoWeek, MotorTrend and other sites like this one.

We were curious how professional spy photographers reacted to finding out that someone had driven around a faux prototype, perhaps one they themselves could've shot and sold for money to their clients. We asked both Brenda Priddy and Chris Doane, two names you should know if you follow spy shots that we've covered on Autoblog, to give us their take on the prank Winding Road pulled.

You can read a statement prepared by Chris Doane and a short interview with Brenda Priddy after the jump
