Mostly 3x8 footage in this video we shot last weekend. The drive organizer insisted that the 30 or so 3x8 cars be segregated on the street far away from the main pre-drive viewing area and at the back of the pack during the drive. In a paradox only he understands, he was in the lead on the drive in his old blue 308!! The link may be slow to load since the Ourmedia site has been having issues the past few days:

Probably a snub. From what I hear from other FChatters, he has a negative opinion of anything "below" a 355. I know of an FChat guy with a beautiful coucours level car that was told to "move that POS 308 to the street" during the same event a few years ago.

    A total snub

A million open spots in the parking area and the 308gt4, 308's and 328's were sent to the little kids folding table on the street. At least the TR's were on the street as well.

UNBELIEVEABLE. I would expect that kinda s**t from Ellen, not a FOC organizer. I think *after* kicking that idiot in the jewels, I'd have hopped in my car and left. Who needs to be treated like that!?

    Impacto!

Thanks for taking the time to shoot it and put it together (will the "un-edited version be on YouTube?")...

The classic 6 & 12-cylinder cars and any "supercars" got to be first in line (there were about five classic 12-cylinder cars, two 246 Dinos, and one F-40 in that first group). I believe the order after that was (or pretty close to): 360, 550, 355, TR, and then 328/308's...

Don't know about the politics of the parking lot, but there were two lines of cars already lined-up on the street when I got there, one group of TR's, one group of 328/308's. The other cars – and a few odd 308's – were in the parking lot. Didn't see any sign of an anti-308 vibe from anyone (which, as someone said would have been ironic since "Mikee" was indeed leading the pack in a GTS).

Anyway, I assume the logic of the line-up order has mainly to do with the fact that 90% of the cars at these events (and active FOC and FCA club members) seem to own 360's, so you gotta take care of your biggest "customer"...

It was a nice, classy touch though to have the vintage cars be first in line.

And somebody's got to be last, right?

Maybe next year, Mikee can have the 308's come after the 360's!

And it was a very fun drive - great event. Never seen so many F-cars driving in a single line except at this run. Incredible.

Ferrari´s claim to respect their complete heritage is not reflected by this line up and attitude. Ferrari cars & owners should be like one family, as is our F-chat community, all treated with the same amount of respect and attention.
IMO line up should done randomly or chronologically. It is much more fun for driver and spectator to be "surrounded" by so many different cars, and thus avoiding the mirror image effect, like "hey there goes a red 360, yes and there is another red 360, and there another one, and another one, and another one, and another one,and another one.....is there anything else here?

Giving the 3x8 a second class treatment is not fair, because 360´s bring in the cash! Who has been buying parts for the last 40 years! And doesn´t Ferrari makes most of their money on aftermarket sales!

Come to think of it, I have changed my mind, line up should not done randomly but in order of the expenses made over the years on the cars!!!
Make way for the 3x8, please!

Old vintage cars get the front of the pack. The more expensive ones are in the front as well. 308gt4, 308, 328 and 348's are in the back of the pack

On a recent Bay Area cruise, my little red 308GT4 was on the freeway with an Enzo directly in front of me and a silver Murcielago Roadster behind me.

    Intimidating? Yes.

One of the most awesome experiences imaginable for a new owner? Yes.

    Screw snubbery.
