    Hello, all - My 8 year old is extremely interested in making his own video game. He already created rules, controls and (pencil drawn) screenshots.

    I am a liberal arts major and have no idea how to help him.

    I have searched Google and see "Game Maker 8.1". Looks complex to me but I am not a computer guy.

    Any ideas? I want to keep his fire burning. Don't want him turned off of his idea because his father can't help.

    Where are you located?

    I'm in SoCal, and there are several summercamps for video game design. My daughter took one last summer, and she had a blast.

    Most are run by the city, but I believe some were through the university.

    Thanks, Dom - We are on the East coast but you have given me the great idea to look around for a "computer camp" he could attend.
