Last year I was approached by Microsoft to record audio from Lamborghini Miura 1021. We put the car on a dyno and recorded the engine at various RMP's. From that recording session, they can digitally recreate the engine sounds as you shift through the gears in the game. They used about 6 or 7 microphones around the engine compartment, air intake, exhaust, etc.

Microsoft has released the game for its XBox 360. The name of the game is Project Gotham Racing 4.

I have not played the game (I'm going to need to buy the console I guess), so if any of your kids have an Xbox, get the game and let me know what you think. I am supposed to get a complimentary copy but it has not arrived yet. I was told that the game was released in the fall so it should be available.

This is not a plug for Microsoft or the game as I have no idea what it is about. However, I thought you would appreciate a modern viideo game with a 40 year old car sounds in it.

I limited it to 6500 rpm. I've never gotten a straight limit for the car, but I think the true limit is about 7500 rpm to I left some room for safety.
