    Nice pics, Harry!

I haven't seen any pics of the Daytona prototype yet, though.

We've got about 1000 pictures, so sorting them takes some time.
Also a short movie of the Daytona prototype.

From my conversation with Leonardo Firavanti who designed the Daytona (during the Daytona tour organized by the factory for the 40 th anniversary of the Daytona ) he made it clear that the prototype was not an interim design, or an evolution.
The "real" car with the "plexi" lights was ready within a few weeks. But because it was coming early in the life of the 275GTB/4 they did not want to hurt the sales and created a "prototype" that looked like a 275 if you pass it a proper Ferrari speed. But the prototype was somehow created after the original design of the Daytona was produced, at least on paper.

The 6th picture. Looks a little like a 250 GTO, a little like a 330. Back looks like a classic Jaguar. What is it?

Im glad the Daytona was redesigned.. the prototype is not as pretty as a 275 and not as aggressive as a Daytona. Ferrari must have had a bean counting moment..

OSCA indeed, with Alfieri Maserati behind the steering wheel if I remember correctly.

Some of the great Ferrari's. They sound great!
Youtube makes it look bad, sadly.

post #24 implies that the daytona prototype was some sort of "decoy" since the 275gtb4 was still in production. interesting. so where was the daytona prototype fall with respect to historical significance?
also, any info on the daytona prototype engine? 4 cam? 2 cam?
    thanks
